Hello, FliFish! Welcome to Wikipedia! It appears that you are here to participate in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia's page for questions. You can also ask me by visiting my user talk page and leaving a message, or you can ask your question on this page by editing it and placing {{Help me}} before your question. Please make sure that you sign your messages on discussion pages, which is done by entering four tildes (~~~~) at the very end of it; this will automatically insert your username and the date. I also highly recommend that you review the advice for students page.

Before you create an article, make sure that you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one, please tell your instructor about creating one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know that the article is a subject of an educational assignment as well as aid your communication with them.

Peer Review

[edit]

Lead Section -The lead section does a great job summarizing the content of the article -In the Rules section, “professional” and “novice” are capitalized, in the Lead section, they are not. Might want to make this formatting consistent.

Rules Section -What are the 7 competition locations? Maybe you can list them in parenthesis?? -“Allowed methods” in the first paragraph is a little vague, can you clarify? -“Certain methods, such as firearms…” > “Certain methods, such as the use of firearms…” (The second phrasing sounds more natural to me, but I may be wrong).

History Section -Maybe talk a bit more about who funds/supports the competition. You mention it in the Lead section, but it could be interesting to expand a bit more on it. -Has there been a positive outcome from the competition (might be hard to find data, but would be cool to include if you can find anything). -Is there a reason why competitions aren’t run in certain years? Like is it based off of the python population in the area? -I like the tabnle a lot! WritingStudent1 (talk) 18:46, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
