Probably a stupid question, but...

...is there any way I can join the Wikicup even though I missed the sign-up deadline by a day? I honestly didn't know about it until now. :( Let me know. — Hunter Kahn (c) 13:55, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

  • Excellent, I'd like to be the Flag of Pennsylvania, which I don't believe is taken yet. By the way, my username is misspelled "Hunter Khan" on the page, it should be "Hunter Kahn". :) I didn't know if I should fix the name and add the flag myself or not. If I should, just let me know and I'll do it. Thanks! — Hunter Kahn (c) 20:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
    • Can I bother you with just one quick clarification question? I've not previously been familiar with the Wikicup contest (hence my late start here) and I think I understand the rules, but wanted to just make sure. The rules say "Content must have been worked on and nominated during the competition". I'm taking this to mean that I wouldn't be able to submit my Subway (Homicide: Life on the Street) for a FA if it passes the current FAC, since I nominated it on Dec. 30, and did most of the work long before that anyway. However, what if I nominated something for GAN that I worked on in December and January? For example, I've nominated Parks and Recreation (season 1) for GA on Jan. 2, and did most of the work between Dec. 6 and Jan. 2. If it passes, I won't be able to submit it, right? Furthermore, if that passes, I'm going to seek a Good Topic for that season and its six episodes, (which are already GAs from my previous work). If that passes, will I be able to submit that, or will I be unable to because most of the GAs passed in 2009? Sorry to be a pest, I promise I'll stop asking questions after this! :) — Hunter Kahn (c) 21:18, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Concerning the WikiCup issue...

...I've got a reply from the AC, and they have said that the user concerned will not be able to proceed as they suggested. I'm happy to forward the emails to you if you're interested. J Milburn (talk) 01:42, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

WikiCup

I see that you get points for DYK. Do you have to write it your self, and some-one else (or youself) nominates it, or do can you nominated some-one elses and get the points that way? Clyde1998 (talk · contribs) 21:23, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

You write it your self on the page, or in your own words in the nominates? Clyde1998. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Clyde1998 (talkcontribs) 07:37, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Och Nae...

I hope you're not buried under a Ben Nevis-sized mountain of snow up there. If your hands can reach a keyboard, I'd appreciate a look at the Shortlist Music Prize FLC. It's my first time and I know how you like those lists. Don't worry too much about Is This It, it's got enough feedback. RB88 (T) 01:55, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Submission on WikiCup

Hi there,

I've submitted something for the WikiCup last night, but my submission has yet to be looked at. Have I done something wrong?

Happy You-Know-What!

Hungry? Here's a little snack for you on your birthday, from the Wikipedia Birthday Committee! Have a great day, Fox!

I hope it's not too late, according to time zones... :-O Schfifty3 22:16, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm...

Just listened to LC!. It's pretty good, but tbh I wouldn't give it more than 8/10 so far. You heard it yet? Also what do you think of the new and improved Silent Alarm article? (Message me an email address of yours, I've got a proposition). ;) PRB88 (T) 11:45, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Great. I'll tie up a few loose ends and let you know. As for LC!, yeah maturity is great but I do miss the Arcade-Fire-high-on-cola. (Fair trade of course.) Although if they end up making a Funeral quality album in the future, I'll worship at the altar. PRB88 (T) 16:44, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Told ya, it's like a Shakespearean play told through art-pop. My next tip is Delorean's Ayrton Senna EP. Imagine if LC! had gone to Ibiza instead of Seattle. RB88 (T) 14:56, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
