Catholic Memorial[edit]

Your continued revision of the Catholic Memorial page to include non-objective, non-encyclopedic, and non-verifiable information appears to be unconstructive. Future revisions will be considered vandalism. If you take issues with specific edits, please explain your problem on the Talk page.

You are welcome to add information that comes from a neutral point of view and is cited from a reliable source. For more information on these Wikipedia policies see WP:NPOV, WP:V, and WP:WPSCH/AG. Cheers, ForgottenManC (talk) 16:37, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May 2009[edit]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Catholic Memorial High School (Waukesha, Wisconsin). Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. tedder (talk) 20:35, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not an advertising medium[edit]

Hello, May I please draw to your attention that Wikipedia is not an advertising medium. A Wikipedia article about a school does not "belong" to the school. In fact Wikipedia policy is that somebody involved in a particular organisation should avoid editing the article about that organisation, just as the subject of a WP article about an individual person may not edit an article about him- or herself. Wikipedia articles are to be written from a neutral perspective without any language that sounds like self-aggrandisement (see WP:PEACOCK) and with facts drawn from third-party reliable sources that can be cited. It is absolutely inappropriate to use language that sounds like a brochure or press release promoting the school. Thank you, Alarics (talk) 21:11, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I see you wrote on another page, "I will consider applying it to our page. If not, please allow stylistic elements to remain unchanged. Otherwise, it might be better if this insititution were not represented on your website." I'm afraid this indicates a fundamental misunderstanding about Wikipedia. The page about the school is not "your page" and it is not for you to "consider applying" anything to it. As for whether or not the institution gets an article on Wikipedia, that is not a matter for the institution itself, but for Wikipedia's rules about whether or not the institution is "notable". If it is, the institution will get an article, whether the institution likes it or not. Alarics (talk) 21:39, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
