Response

[edit]

Hi GiantSnowman, sorry for any confusion however there is a glaring inaccuracy with the page. It should read 'Ryan Metcalfe' rather than 'Ryan Metcalf', there is an 'E' at the end. I know him personally you see! Further sources below if you need them:

http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/player-availability--ryan-metcalfe/

He is also currently playing for Benburb if you want to update it.

Stats in football players' infoboxes

[edit]

Hi, when you update the stats in football players' infoboxes please remember that you should also update the |pcupdate= (or |club-update=) parameter. This shows when the stats were last updated and prevents editors from accidentally updating the stats again. Thank you. --Jaellee (talk) 17:17, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Darren Miller (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not played in a fully professional league

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2017–18 Dumbarton F.C. season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Sutton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Punctuation placement

[edit]

Hi Fraggle - having made some edits to articles you've been involved with, I just wanted to make a wee friendly suggestion. When you're adding a reference, could you please make sure that any punctuation is placed before the first reference tag? So for example, punctuation should be placed as:

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.[1]

And not:

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit[2].

Not a big deal, just want to make sure that your edits are in keeping with the style of Wikipedia. Thanks :) Exxy (talk) 08:24, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No problem Exxy, wasn't sure if there was a house style for that sort of thing! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fragglerock52 (talkcontribs) 12:41, May 17, 2018 (UTC)
Thank you! ^^ I believe there is, although I'm not proficient enough to produce the relevant Wikipedia guidance! :P Exxy (talk) 14:23, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox formatting

[edit]

Not sure why you are editing infoboxes against the layout established by {{Infobox football biography}} - but please stop. GiantSnowman 18:26, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Giant Snowman, I was a wee bit confused by that, because I wasn't aware I was. Had a look back through the code and realised that I think it's only started happening since I began using the visual editor (lazy guy that I am!). Guess it was caused by using the 'tab' key to jump between cells?

Edit: Just re-read your post. Is it an issue with the biography part, or the career statistics table? I spotted coding mistakes with the latter, but couldn't find what you were referring to about the former?

Cheers,

Fragglerock52 (talk) 19:21, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Football kit patterns

[edit]

Hi,

Looking for some guidance. I have created Dumbarton FC season pages from 1873 onwards and am currently updating and enhancing the data on these pages.

Can you tell me where I can view football kit patterns to add to the pages. Note that the 1873 version was already added by another author and this remains unchanged until 1887 - so I need to find out how to change the patterns for future seasons.

Your advice would be appreciated. Aitkegs (talk)

Hi there Aitkegs I suspect that Historical Kits[3] would probably be your best option as, currently, neither the club website, nor Sons Archive[4] appear to have anything more complete. Cheers Fragglerock52 (talk) 14:55, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response. However my query doesn't relate to the actual design of the kits (as you say Historical Kits has a full record) but the coding which produces the kit e.g. the code for the early 1880's kit is as follows:
|leftarm1 =1d1f4d
|body1 =1d1f4d
|rightarm1=1d1f4d
|shorts1 =ffffff
|socks1 =ff0000
Is there an index which matches the code to the relevant kit that I can view? Aitkegs (talk)

Oh sorry Aitkegs, totally misunderstood you there! I'm afraid I'm unaware of any such thing, sorry I can't be more help Fragglerock52 (talk) 08:49, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
