Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Friebfuddhicecoffee. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Javier Ávila, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. S0091 (talk) 20:19, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Likewise, your edits to pages related to Oscar Ávila including Draft:Trailer (episode) may represent a conflict of interest. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 20:44, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am not connected to any of these people that you mentioned. My edits related to Javier Ávila were only because I noticed things that should be improved. Friebfuddhicecoffee (talk) 20:46, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response. I must admit I am not entirely convinced considering you also are writing an article about Ávila's podcast. However, the Wikipedia community is quite adept at determining these things either way it goes at the end of the day. Oh and I should have mentioned below about the move, if you have questions or need help, you can ask at the Teahouse. They could have told you what to do, if not done it for you. Draft of Trailer (episode)

[edit]

I moved the draft you were working on to Draft:Trailer (episode).

I moved the redirect that was there to User:Friebfuddhicecoffee/Trailer (episode). Feel free to replace its content with {{db-user}} if you want the now-not-very-useful redirect to be deleted.

As for Draft:Trailer (song), feel free to replace its content with {{db-author}} if you want to.

Another editor already requested "speedy deletion" for the leftover redirect at Trailer (episode) since redirects from the main encyclopedia to draft articles are generally not allowed. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 20:23, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for moving it back to a draft. I accidentally moved it to a page and wasn’t sure how to undo it. Thanks! Friebfuddhicecoffee (talk) 20:44, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WP:MOVE has instructions. If you still cannot fix it, you can either ask an admin directly or post a request at WP:RFD. S0091 (talk) 20:50, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Friebfuddhicecoffee: Because the leftover redirect had two edits, one by you and one by a bot, you could not have fixed the problem. If this happens again, the "technical moves" section of WP:Requested moves is the place to ask someone with the necessary user-rights to do it. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 23:22, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
