David Flores(jockey)

[edit]

I think that David fits in the requirements for notoriety or notability....the page link has been made as though it will be a page in the future. I don't want my work to be wasted...and besides it needs some work. Your response will be appreciated.--Friendlymat 01:43, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article was almost empty, only saying that David Flores is a jockey, his birthday, and an external links. That is not any assertion of notability. —Mets501 (talk) 01:48, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW, I think Flores to be notable per WP:BIO (it is, to be sure, a close call), and so were you to create an article that asserts his notability (one that mentions, for example, his having won a riding title at Santa Anita or his having ridden Free House to third in the 1997 Kentucky Derby), I'm sure it would not be speedily deleted. If you wish to work on an article before creating it in mainspace, in order that it should be more substantive, you should feel free to create a sandbox for yourself (by, for one, clicking on User:Friendlymat/Sandbox and creating the page [by saving it with any content]); when an article is then ready for inclusion in the encyclopedia proper, you may copy it to David Flores (the jockey qualifier is unnecessary, since we've no other article apropos of a David Flores; we do have a redirect from David Flores Delgado to McDonald's massacre, of which Flores Delgado was, it seems, a victim, but a simple inclusion of an {{otheruses4}} template at the top of your article would suffice to disambiguate the term—you needn't to worry about the latter, as someone else will surely take care of it). If you've any further questions, feel free to write me at my talk page. Joe 18:25, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thoroughbred horse Infobox template

[edit]

Galopin has generously volunteered to help the Wikipedia:WikiProject Thoroughbred racing create an Infobox and has done a great job. Take a look at his talk page (User talk:Galopin#Template tests) for the two choices for the bottom box and those horses where I set up their box today using sample 1. Thanks for helping to clean that up. :) If you're curious, you can find a good deal of information at cleaning up vandalism or the Counter-Vandalism Unit WikiProject page. Feel free to let me know if you have any other problems. Luna Santin 19:00, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 16:51, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
