A tag has been placed on Don Soker Contemporary Art, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Don Soker Contemporary Art[edit]

I have been working on the article Don Soker Contemporary Art. However I have an important question. This looks as if it was copied from another wiki, perhaps one at wikia? Was it? or was it copied from any other source? If it was, we need to acknowledge the source properly. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 00:28, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nobuo Yamagishi[edit]

Hi there! I saw your draft about Nobuo Yamagishi. I added a couple references, including to the Japanese article that it looks like you may have translated? Anyways, I think if you keep working on it the draft will get accepted, just don't forget to cite things. It's really important, and you can learn more about how to do it at WP:Cite. Feel free to drop me a message if you have any questions!Mcampany (talk) 19:48, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mcampany Thank you for telling me about the article in Japanese. I did not translate it but am now waiting to receive a book about Yamagishi from Japan so I can cite it as source. The name used in the article Shiniro should be edited to show he was also generally known as Nobuo. Also there is much more information about him I wish to add. But the article is in Japanese and I want to write it in English. Since there is already this article published is it possible to write another one? He was a very important person for modern Japanese art and I knew him well and several artists in Japan have asked me to do this. My wikipedia article is donsokercontemporaryart. Any help greatly appreciated Thank you. Don Fundyfan (talk) 22:44, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I'm confused. We're still talking about Draft:Nobuo Yamagishi, right? There's no Shiniro mentioned there, so I'm not sure what you'd like me to do. The Wikipedia article isn't published at all--it keeps getting declined at WP:AFC, so I'd recommend that you keep working on it once you get that book from Japan. It keeps getting declined because the reviewers don't see how it satisfies WP:N, so hopefully that book will be able to help you satisfy the general notability guideline. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to help much with that. None of the libraries around me seem to have anything about him. I'm sure you'll be fine going forward as long as you remember to cite everything that you add to the article.
Also, if you knew him personally I believe you're supposed to declare a conflict of interest on your user page. You can read WP:COI for more information. - Mcampany (talk) 08:05, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok the article in Japanese is titled Shinro Yamagishi and is basically his biography but does not mention he generally was know by the name Nobuo. It can be automatically translated and I would like to publish it in English with some revisions including the names of some of the prominent artists he exhibited, many of whom have their own articles. This would be preferable to me writing an entirely new one I think. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.Fundyfan (talk) 19:31, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The "信郎" in 山岸信郎 can be read as "Nobuo", so there isn't anything to fix. "Shinro" is a possible reading, but I think in terms of the Wikipedia article, most people will understand that it's supposed to be read as "Nobuo" since that's what the title is. If there's a different kanji you'd like in the article, please share it with me, but this is what I was able to find online. Instead of translating the Japanese article, I think it might be best if you expanded the article that already exists, since it's a good start already. As I mentioned before, the main issue that's stopping your Wikipedia article from being accepted is the fact that it doesn't have a whole lot of citations, so I really think you should focus on that. If you can't find more citation to add, it won't be published.
Adding an article to Wikipedia is kind of difficult, so if you want to write from your own knowledge or don't want to worry about sources, maybe you should publish this biography on your own website so you don't have to worry about Wikipedia's standards or policies? What do yo think? -- Mcampany (talk) 20:16, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I don't read Kanji but do you think it is possible to republish the Shinro article in the English translation then add to it? I have quite many sources I can cite for this material and now I can use the National Institute for Cultural Properties I suppose. Thank youFundyfan (talk) 22:13, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WELL I DO NOT THINK YOU ARE CORRECT.I CLEARLY STATE THE INFORMATION IS INCORRECT AND MALICIOUS AND I AM NOT ATTACKING THE PERSON JUST THE CONTENT BUT DO QUESTION THE MOTIVE OF THE PERSON WHO HAS NO REASON TO CONTINUE TO REMOVE INFORMATION FROM MY WIKIPEDIA PAGE SO I MUST ASSUME THEY HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO. SO WHY ARE YOU SO INTERESTED IN THIS? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fundyfan (talkcontribs) 00:55, November 25, 2019 (UTC)
Please indent your replies (one colon per level of indent), please sign your talk page posts with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ will append a timestamp and your username), and please don't use all caps.
As for the warning, you called another editor "mentally impaired" in an edit summary, and stated "This person appears to have some mental problem" on a user page.Your warning is well-deserved. Do not do this again. And stop throwing the term "libel" around. Please read WP:NLT Meters (talk) 04:09, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I believe I have been misunderstood. My Wikipedia page has been edited and important information removed by another editor without my permission and for no given reason. The same person has published false statements about me using newspaper articles which are proven to be incorrect. This may be categorized as an error on their part or perhaps they have another motive. I am unable to understand how another Wikipedia editor will criticize me for a formatting error but give me no advice on stopping such clearly negative action on the part of someone who continues to alter my page. Thank you for your adviceFundyfan (talk) 01:41, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Fundyfan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Don Soker Contemporary Art, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Your post at User talk:52.119.123.235 calling Don Soker Contemporary Art "your article" and the fact that you are nearly a WP:SPA on this article strongly suggest that have a conflict of interest in this article.
