Yale-UConn Football 1979

The attendance is wrong. The source is already cited in footnote #3. In the cited Hartford Courant article in the 2nd paragraph it states attendance was 22,300, not 2,217. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.117.244.99 (talk) 04:13, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Hey, its 50.230.216.80, the one you recently messaged. I want to let you know that I never remember editing that page. All I do is edit sports stuff and that's it. I must have gotten hacked by someone else who edited that I have no idea but all I do is just edit sports stuff. 50.230.216.80 (talk) 14:09, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

September 11, 2001 attacks

This video examines public videos of the several attacks on 9/11. It demonstrates substantially different facts from the article. This IS important and deserves your review before deletion. Consider the contents of this video:

Liberal bias

Why is it "vandalism" to edit liberal non-sense ? Since when is George W. Bush is considered a member of the Christian right?

Why is this liberal lunacy allowed to continue in all impunity?

On Christian Right's persons list

What about the claim that Ann Coulter is part of the Christian Right? Her books "Slander", "Treason", and "How to Talk to a Liberal if You Must" are biased but have no religious content whatsoever. So again, how can Ann Coulter be in the Christian Right list?

ASIA album

Hello Fuzheado. You made a mistake. You removed my reference to the ASIA album appearing in the 2013 Tom Cruise movie "Oblivion" simply because the reference didn't have a citation associated with it. Why would I need to provide a citation if I personally watched the movie and observed the actual appearance myself? Its seems to me a citation is not needed in the documentation of such a first-hand observation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.40.245.241 (talk) 16:25, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

Cite Unseen update

Hello! Thank you for using Cite Unseen. The script recently received a significant update, detailed below.

  • You can now toggle which icons you do or don't want to see. See the configuration section for details. All icons are enabled by default except for the new Green checkmark generally reliable icon (described below).
  • New categorizations/icons:
    • Megaphone Advocacy: Organizations that are engaged in advocacy (anything from political to civil rights to lobbying). Note that an advocacy group can be reliable; this indicator simply serves to note when a source's primary purpose is to advocate for certain positions or policies, which is important to keep in mind when consuming a source.
    • Hand writing Editable: Sites that are editable by the public, such as wikis (Wikipedia, Fandom) or some databases (IMDb, Discogs).
    • Red journal with an X Predatory journals: These sites charge publication fees to authors without checking articles for quality and legitimacy.
    • Perennial source categories: Cite Unseen will mark sources as Green checkmark generally reliable, Exlamation mark in orange triangle marginally reliable, No symbol generally unreliable, Stop hand deprecated, and Black X blacklisted. This is based on Wikipedia's perennial sources list, which reflects community consensus on frequently discussed sources. Sources that have multiple categorizations are marked as Blue question mark varied reliability. Note that Green checkmark generally reliable icons are disabled by default to reduce clutter, but you can enable them through your custom config. A special thanks to Newslinger, whose new Sourceror API provides the perennial sources list in a clean, structured format.
  • With the addition of the new categorizations, the biased source icon has been removed. This category was very broad, and repetitive to the new advocacy and perennial sources categorizations that are more informative.

If you have any feedback, requested features, or domains to add/remove, don't hesitate to bring it up on the script's talk page. Thank you! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:09, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

DYK for Jenna Ellis

On 21 December 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jenna Ellis, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Jenna Ellis was a stern critic of Donald Trump before she became his legal adviser? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jenna Ellis. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Jenna Ellis), and if they received a combined total of 416.7 or more views per hour (ie, 5,000-plus views in 12 hours or 10,000-plus in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

BLP1E request for clarification

In the closure summary at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ashli Babbitt you said:

all three criteria are satisfied as stated in the policy

Since the third criterion is actually one of three possibilities, like A + B + (C or D or E) I was hoping you could clarify which you believe is true:

  1. that the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol was insignificant
  2. that Ashli's role in the event was insignificant
  3. that documentation of Ashli's role was insignificant

I think it would be better in future when articles are removed on the basis of 1E policy that closers specify which of the three options was used to fulfill the 3rd criterion. I'm wondering if this could be put forth as an administrative guideline for others to use, but I am not sure where the appropriate place would be to make this proposal. Edit to the 'Alt-tech' article

Hi Fuzheado. You removed my edit to the 'Alt-tech' article, on the grounds that it did not include a source. I want to explain that the purpose of that edit was not to add specifically new information that requires a source, but to add a small note to a section that I believe provides better context to the information presented. A researcher was quoted in the article as stating (paraphrase) that the website 4chan was created to facilitate alt-right movements and viewpoints, along with a couple or so of other sites. After this piece of information, I added, in brackets, that the site 4chan was not created out of a politically-motivated dispute, and only contained one, neutral political board. I feel this is a relevant addendum to the information about the statement from that researcher, as the article in general provides the context of these alt-tech sites being motivated by political disputes within other social media sites and their moderation - while 4chan is not a site which was created out of such a dispute. It is also relevant because of the fact that it was stated in the article the belief of a researcher tha the site was created to facilitate right-wing views - there is no specific evidence of this.

Please consider allowing the edit to remain on the article, thank you for your consideration.

The event will be broadcast live via YouTube. Feel free to ask questions for the panel through the chat!

We will also have some NYC wiki trivia you can participate in, with confectionery prizes.

The Bridge on the River Kwai

Hello,

I posted about Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation mentioning The Bridge on the River Kwai as an "In Popular Culture" moment. I only made the edit because I was pretty surprised it wasn't listed on the page as it gets referenced several times on the show. I'm not a person who edits Wikipedia much, but here is a link to another Wikipedia page talking about one of the instances from the show (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagleton_(Parks_and_Recreation)). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.106.126 (talk) 19:52, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

February 2021

The changes in question were the result of inside information - although admittedly, I confess that there is no direct source for this. However, I felt the information pertinent enough to warrant inclusion, given the nature of the topic. In this instance, too much credance is given to Fincham as a "composer", given that the majority of his work was only attained after his partner became chairwoman of the choir commissioning the piece. It is also noteworthy that this is despite several choir members being composers professionally, and not having been granted similar opportunities. Therefore, Fincham is currently portrayed as a "serious" composer, rather than one who has only been able to achieve the moderate success he has done through sheer nepotism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.21.78.36 (talk) 20:42, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

/* Vehicles */ Added a passenger vehicle example of a dead mans switch on a handle (steering wheel)

Hi there,

I did reference the addition with the FAQ and Safety Guide on Autopilot from the Tesla Website. It is Reference Number 3 on the Dead Man's Switch page. That one citation is reference for the entire paragraph, so if it needs to be moved to the end to the end of the paragraph please let me know. It should also be noted that many of the documented use cases of Dead Man Switches in that subheading are not referenced and still remain on the page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.237.8.42 (talk) 04:34, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

I suppose there have been only two participants in the discussion, myself and the major contributor to the article to be merged. The originator of the merge did not respond further, even after being pinged. After a full month, this lack of interest indicates to me that the discussion is over, not that it should remain. Hey Fuzheado! In January, you blocked Dave Panpa for sockpuppetry but you did not state which account they were connected to. Could you clarify this? Was it, by any chance, Account10000 or any of their socks? If so, tagging would be appreciated. Regards, IceWelder [] 19:31, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) IceWelder, this is indeed Account10000. However, I would personally avoid tagging in this specific case per WP:DENY. Mz7 (talk) 01:13, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
Mz7, thanks for the info. I would personally argue that tagging socks does not violate DENY, rather it creates a better picture of an LTA's extent and makes cross-checking behaviour easier. Also, you re-blocked Tuxedo Labs; I take it that was another Account10000 sock and not actually the developer by that name (i.e. an impersonation)? IceWelder [] 06:57, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
IceWelder, yes, that's correct (re Tuxedo Labs). The reason I'm hesitant to apply tags in this specific case is because it's clear the user is trying to get as much attention as possible, even tagging their own accounts [7], and I'm loath to grant them their wish (although I suspect that by having this discussion, I've already done so). I do understand where you're coming from that tagging makes identifying future socks easier—it's always a bit of a cost-benefit analysis in these situations, and it tends to be a judgment call rather than a clear-cut answer. (Feel free to continue this discussion on my talk page, so we don't keep pinging Fuzheado.) Mz7 (talk) 07:13, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
March 17, 7pm: ONLINE WikiWednesday Salon NYC with Wikimedia Community Ireland for St Patrick's Day
Welcome to Wikimedia New York City!

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our monthly "WikiWednesday" evening salon (7-8pm) and knowledge-sharing workshop. To join the meeting from your computer or smartphone, just visit this link. More information about how to connect is available on the meetup page.

We look forward to seeing local Wikimedians, but would also like to invite folks from the greater New York metropolitan area (and beyond!) who might not typically be able to join us in person!

As this WikiWednesday coincides with Saint Patrick's Day, we will have a guest speaker from Wikimedia Community Ireland, about Irish-language Wikipedia, the efforts of the community in Ireland, and personal work on historical biographies with a special Irish-New York connection.

This month will also include a discussion of Black WikiHistory Month in February and WikiWomen's History Month and Art+Feminism in March, and of course the great work that is being done in these topical areas throughout the year. If there's a project you'd like to share or a question you'd like answered, just let us know by adding it to the agenda or the talk page.

7:00pm - 8:00 pm online via Zoom (optional breakout rooms from 8:00-8:30)

Notice

The article Mail Order Family has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Television pilot pitch that never even got a pilot filmed

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Disruptive Editor

Fuzheado, you were good enough to block a disruptive editor, user:2601:900:8201:EA60:785F:198E:2E27:145B for one week. The individual is back at it again, making the same sorts of disruptive edits. Would you be willing to block this person again? Instant Comma (talk) 15:19, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
