Porsche 911

[edit]

Hi Roy

Thanks for the reply. Please let me know if you need any help with this page - I don't have time to spend too long writing stuff, but am happy to contribute. I do urge you to remove the MkI and MkII references, though, because they are confusing.

Cheers

Phil Philsy 19:33, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your message and sorry for the delay in replying. I agree that the 964 Turbo never came with 4 wheel drive and i'm not even sure why i mentioned that! 4wd first appeared on a 911 Turbo with the Turbo version of the 993 in 1995. I've only mentioned Mk 1 and Mk 2 in that context because historically there have only ever been 2 generations of 911 (1963-1997 and 1997-present) despite each generation being continually updated, and often featuring different code names with each revision. Your comments have been noted and understood though.

Cheers

Roy (Fuzzyworcester) 17th April 2006.

Hi, I put a note on the 911 page, but I've since found I'm meant to contact you via your Talk page, so here I am!

I'm interested that you've reintroduced some errors I've corrected on this article. The terms Mk1 and Mk2 should not be used in relation to the air-cooled and water-cooled 911 in the way you suggest. Also, the 964 Turbo was not offered with four-wheel-drive. I'm as keen as you are to make this article accurate, but don't want us to be wasting each other's time. Feel free to contact me directly to discuss - I have a detailed knowledge of the 911 but don't have a lot of time to spend putting stuff onto Wikipedia, but I'm happy to help ensure what is on there is correct.

Cheers

Phil Philsy 08:52, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i see you've been adding detailed info about the 996 and 997 variants of the Porsche 911. I'd like to encourage you to use the existing Porsche 996 and Porsche 997 pages for the detailed stuff, since it is making the 911 page unwieldy. There are already "Main article xxx" links, so people should have no trouble finding those pages. They have material in them already, so it will be necessary to merge your material in with what's already there.

all the best,

Image Tagging Image:3-5.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:3-5.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. bluemask 11:56, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Peugeot 307 sw 2005 1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 16:32, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uploads

[edit]

Do not upload images with false license information. If you do not know what the copyright status of an image is do not upload it. As the upload page says most images found around the internet is copyrighted and not apropriate for uploading to the Wikipedia, claiming images to be public domain without any kind of proof to back it up is just not acceptable. Please be more carefull in the future (repeatedly uploading images with false info will get you blocked), thanks. --Sherool (talk) 16:32, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:Midredw165exngtherefd85.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:52, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fuzzyworcester! an article you have contributed to, has been selected for the Wikipedia Version 0.8. offline release on DVD and iPhone. The article Woosh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable local bus routes. Fails WP:GNG and WP:NOTTRAVEL

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Newsletter WikiProject Worcestershire

[edit]

Worcestershire - one of England's oldest and still existing (with some minor boundary changes) ceremonial and political shires, famous for its nearly 1000 year old cathedral, the River Severn, the AONB of the Malvern Hills, some of the oldest schools in the country, England's fastest growing university, apples, pears, cider and cricket, and of course its world famous sauce. The Wikiproject is now in need of some attention. Created 12 years ago, this project amassed a huge resource for editors working on all kinds of articles and categories related in some way or another to the county. Kudpung is more or less retired from Wikipedia getting on for 2 years ago and it would be good if a group of editors could get it up to date and continue to maintain it.
