Hi, this is AncientPictograph97,

I see you reported me for vandalism on Jesse Eisenberg's page, for which I apologise if there was any miscommunication. The web link I listed under website is in fact his website, oneupme.com, a service that asks its users to post clever wordplay responses to a daily prompts.

I hope you now understand why I list that as his website (as he did create it and maintains it). Thanks!

Happy New Year To You!!

Thanks Fylbecatulous for the good wishes - and many fold back to you! A special thanks for all the help, support & knowledge you have given me this past year. I've learned so much by watching how you do coding. The world of Wikipedia is overwhelming & not only have you been so kind to answer my questions. In doing so - you've shown me some tricks to make some tasks easier but also where I can go to learn more about my question. I still have a lot to learn & I'm gaining confidence to try editing more articles. I've done some work on the "Austin Music Scene" article. Doing so for example I learned about Dab Solver when a Bot flagged a couple of changes. I'd wondered how to reference an article where there are multiple articles with that name & how to specify which one. That article needs a bit of work. The history section is super long & covers 5 decades of music in Austin & I want to break it into sections by each decade. I still need to study more about working with photos!!!!! You've given me a number of places to review & helped guide me by watching what you did to help me with my adding pic to NO & with my Natasha pic to thank you - but I still find it so confusing but I'll figure it out. There's an popular Austin band called Mingo Fishtrap that I noticed doesn't have a pic - so I'll experiment with that one. Actually I'm going to a show of theres tonight. If I can't find one, I may ask them where I can get one. They also need more info & there seem to be a number of secondary articles for them. Soon I'll attempt to add my 1st new articles - for 2 crucial non profit org dedicated to helping Austin Music: Black Fret - an org building an endowment, gives grants out & generally provides lots of resources to musicians. Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) provides much needed health care for musicians - by paying their med bills or helping pay for their insur (which as you can imagine they almost never have). Based on my experience with new articles & what you've told me - I have to be super prepared because someone may be very aggressive "criticing" what I've done. As these are important articles & know of many references to them in other articles I'm so lucky that you were the person that took on the Nightowls article as "new music" one to review. You've been nothing but supportive from the beginning! I'm really proud of how the article turned out. I'm always telling people to look at it & they always are impressed with it. I know the band is super excited about it & always expresses their thanks to you. I look at the number of people that view it daily & when something happens for example the annoucement that they were in the 1st round of artists selected for 2016 SXSW - there was a huge spike in views. Or when one of their songs was selected as a song of the day in Atlantic Magazine. There are number of other instances like this. They know how to look at this & this information really helps up & coming bands like them figure out what's working for them. So thank you again for that & for everything. As I progress along my path editing articles - if I can't figure out something on my own - I hope you won't mind me reaching out for your help & expertise. Again Happy New Year & here's to a great 2016!! David R AustinTx (talk) 23:44, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

David R AustinTx, wow! thank you. The Austin music scene article has collected a lot of stuff...one of my favourite musicians, Doug Sahm is of course listed. I spit shined his article a bit in the autumn because I wrote his article for the Simple English wiki. If you think this 'pedia is hard to crack, Simple is even tougher. I like it there and survive, but many times my feelings are hurt and I just place more cat images over my wounds. Of course, you may continue to ask me. My talk page is always open, friendly and welcome. Talk pages should always be where other editors feel free to show up for help, collaboration or even bemoaning the state of Wikipedia and its motley assortment of editors. ツ Fylbecatulous talk 13:40, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

Reviewed pages & TheJack15

Hi there, I noticed a talk page message you left for TheJack15. Please note that user has been blocked as a sock. I am unfamiliar with the review/un-review process, but you might want to take a moment and help out the community by double-checking all of his work since he appears to have been a disruptive editor. I know he's done a lot of harm over at WP:RM where I first encountered him. Tiggerjay (talk) 16:51, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

Stuck
Stuck because yes, I realise they are a sockpuppet. I do recognise the template and this is why I unreviewed the article. Squirrelly article plus sock puppet reviewer getz an unreview from me. The article is now happily back in the unreviewed queue. However, every page I unreview with the WP:Page Curation tool will automatically place another templated message on the sock's talk page and then I shall receive another response from the editing public urging me to double-check their work. I am sticking to music articles and encountered this one in an error category for WikiProjectMusicians: Category:Infobox musical artist with missing or invalid Background field‎ which is a hidden category but currently has 176 article pages needing repair, so thanks for the pleading but no thanks. ツ and all the best and happy editing and such... Page View Statistics?

Hello Fylbecatulous. I noticed the daily page view statistics for The Nightowls haven't been updated since 1/20. I checked several articles & noticed the same. Do you know if there is any issue with this or have they stopped generating these? Also is there some place I can look up things like this? Also look at general notes & information about what is happening with Wikipedia? Thanks as always.

David R AustinTx (talk) 23:04, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi David, this time I have replied on your talk page because I left you the entire template in which to enter the crazy world of 'what is going on in Wikipedia'. As David Foster Wallace said about Infinity: everything and more..... happy hunting. ツ and yes, your page views are down as happens with so many tools on Wikipedia (more and the link to details on your page) All the best as always. Fylbecatulous talk 16:54, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
Hello Fylbecatulous talk 16:54, 4 February 2016 (UTC) I noticed you can check page view statistics again. There's a new & improved graphic presentation that lets you query a date range or the last 10,20 days etc. I'm glad I don't have to go figure out all those complicated coding things - although at some point in the future I should figure out how to use those type things.

David R AustinTx (talk) 18:32, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, David, thanks ツ What fun. I actually just went and took a peek. Actually, page views are important. By the way, I am not sure what articles you have on your watchlist, so not sure if you noticed yet: [1]. I added some info about The Nightowls to the article on FAME Studios. A mention works both ways and now the band is now linked in both articles (check the 'what links here' in the same tool link as 'page information' where page view stats used to live). The more page links, the better. If you check the band, only three article pages link to it. (besides you and I <wink> because we are discussing it...) Now check The Connells (another page I like to work on because they are local for me) and they have about 75 links (of course, they have been in existence longer, but one page at a time :)) The Nightowls can rightfully have stuff added about them to any related article. They are, after all, notable. Talk to you soon ツ Fylbecatulous talk 19:27, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

HELP - changes made to Nightowls

Help!!!! Fylbecatulous. Someone made some drastic changes to The Nightowls article!! This was just as they about to play SXSW & shop around their new EP. The timing couldn't be worse. I don't want go & automatically reverse them & cause more problems i.e. get into a battle with him. His comments are pretty obnoxious. Not sure what to do?? Help.

David R AustinTx (talk) 04:05, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

David R AustinTx, good morning. I defer. Sorry, but the article belongs to Wikipedia; not you or the band. The person who has pruned it is not only an administrator of long and good standing but an arbitrator. WP:ARB. I intend to be respectful to their wisdom. I will not even agree that their edit summaries are harsh; they are constructive criticism. I have never been in an edit war or complained about to any noticeboard and my inherent stress level has to stay calm. Even on my favourite cat articles, if a change I make is reverted I bite my lip, breathe and have another cup of tea. Articles grow, shrink and change. I know you are invested in this article, so find a citation for the flag. Like my page notice says: "no alarming the cat. I contribute here for happiness; as an enchantment against sorrow." Fylbecatulous talk 14:29, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
David R AustinTx, after some further thought, from what you have said in your comment to me, I think perhaps you do have at least a relationship-wise and emotional / promotional conflict-of-interest here. It sounds like you really have a close connection. I hope you can decide to leave off editing the article directly. Thanks Fylbecatulous talk 17:16, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Thanks Fylbecatulous for the information, feedback & sound advice. I was pretty much done editing their article, just wanted to bring it up to date before SXSW. Yes you're right about the criticism, at 1st I was just so startled & was looking at his article & saw all this arbitration stuff & thought he was the subject of them, now it's clear. I read thru each of his changes carefully & took them all as a learning lesson - being so new to Wiki I have a lot to learn (and a thicker skin to get LOL). I've got 2 other new articles I've started working on - soon will take the plunge & publish my 1st new article, I have the information you gave me on the various ways of adding new ones - with a preferred one. Thanks again!David R AustinTx (talk) 18:53, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for your gracious reply. Hope to see you around... Fylbecatulous talk 13:41, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

The Connells article, SXSW is almost upon us!

Hello Fylbecatulous. When you mentioned working on The Connells article awhile back, I read the article then & was really impressed not only with them, but how the article was written. Especially how it was laid out & organized for a band with such an extensive history. Today I went back to look at some of the edits you did so I could pick up some more pointers. I also starting listening to their videos - they have so many! I ended up putting one of their channels on & just letting it cycle thru in the background. I really love their sound! I thought 74-75 (10 million views!) was great, esp the flashback to their 70’s haircuts! I really like Fun & Games, both title song & others. I can see why they make references to REM – who I love, but as the article says, that’s really unfair because they do have their own distinct sound. Thanks for turning me on to them, they’re really good!

1 last comment on The Nightowls – just to let you know where I was coming from. The article was vandalized a couple of times early on. In 1 instance they took out a whole section & replaced it with a nonsense sentence. That was before I found out about watching an article, but fortunately it was caught by someone (I guess due to the number of words changed). It was late sun after my regular full day of being out, when I got home & saw the email on the update. I saw the top section was reduced to 1 sentence. Then looking at the comments, I saw “what a mess..” about the top. For their initial touring in 2003 thru out Texas & La, it said “of course this is what bands do…”. So then I looked him up & saw his categories were things like “Deletionist WP”, “Third-Gender WP”, “WP Sex workers” etc. Then I looked at his talk & saw all these really lengthy arbitration entries & thought they must be against him. So I thought, “what is this guy doing to the article?”. Thinking he may have vandalized it, I reached out to you. I’ve been done with the article for awhile. After a recent update for their SXSW date, there’s nothing to add until they release their EP. SXSW music starts 3/15. WP is so crucial for bands. The date of the showcase was just announced last wk, which is why was concerned. Everyone here is a so crazed now researching bands to see & trading tips. WP is so important because as you know, that’s how everyone does this. Yesterday alone they had 171 views which is almost triple their prev high. I don’t know if you’ve ever been - the whole thing is so overwhelming. I volunteer & get a free badge, so I’m heavy into looking at the 2,200 bands playing a showcase, which is 105 official venues. This is my 3rd yr & past 2 yrs I’ve seen 45-50 bands over the 5 nites. When I get the exact full sched I start working on a rough plan of attack. The showcases don’t start till 7-8 so there’s a lot to do during the day. There is also so much non-showcase venues playing music, I rely on my friends to tell me what’s going on.

Finally, I spent a long time on mon, going thru each of changes to The Nightowls, I understood what he was doing & why (although I disagree with just a few). It all made sense and the article looks really great now. Looking back, it was really cluttered with lots of unnecessary info that was distracting. Now it's very clean, straightforward & easy to get all the key info about them. I learned a lot from him doing this for when I create future band articles, such as less is more in wording, let the citations speak for themselves, make sure they’re noteworthy etc.

Do you know of any bands playing SXSW that I should see? You have to work min of 48 hrs to get a music badge. The past 2 yrs, I’ve worked the film fest & completed my hrs before Music. This yr they said we’d have to work some hrs during music – which is unacceptable, so I’m doing what is called “Tech Conference”. Working in pairs, we get assigned to a room holding the panels & presentations. We have to make sure their PC or laptops are hooked up for presentations, setup all the mikes for them, get the sound levels, etc. Then we get to stay & watch the panel. I don’t know this techy stuff at all. We went for an orientation & they showed us the setups. It seems a little complicated but this is new to most of us 200 people on the crew. There’s also what they tech people called “Ninjas” that you text & they come right away. Once I do 1, I think I’ll be fine. I’m working Tue – Thur at the SXSWedu, then Fri & Sat at the Interactive. Our scheduled shift times are 8 – 7, however most don’t start till 10/11 & last is 5, but we get credit for the 11 hrs. I’ll have all my hrs well before the music starts tue.

Thanks again for all your support & guidance. When talking about Wiki to people, I always say I have a guardian angel! David R AustinTx (talk) 02:56, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi David, thank you first for the guardian angel compliment ツ I am going to reply to all this but sign now and ping you, so I know for sure you get the notice. Notifications can be quirky since it is automated so some pings don't go through. Fylbecatulous talk 20:24, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
  • The Connells: about the article; yes but alas, so much of it is unsourced. We are probably committing WP:Original research by the kilobytes. ツ It reads so well and is very informative and interesting, but all it would take is one editor (like Drmies..shhhhh) with a red pen and most of it would not stand due to poor sourcing. A lot of print material is not online and some publications are defunct and out-of-print. My favourite album was Fun and Games also, and I am addicted to the song "Something To Say". I really love jangle pop because of the chiming guitars. My favourite band of the genre is Jason & the Scorchers. I have made more edits to that article, as well as the one for the singer Jason Ringenberg than any. The Nightowls is close, though.
  • Drmies: that is hilarious. I can see now why you thought his edits were destructive. Actually, his talk page is one of the most popular on all of English Wikipedia, because it is so free-flowing and open and sometimes gets into hilarity, the profane and the most fun is poked there. He at the moment has 804 page watchers. (you and I have fewer than 30, which is the default) He is a professor at Auburn University in Alabama and recently was offering girl scout cookies on his page for his two daughters. The categories on his page are also meant to be ironic (inclusionist as well as deletionist, male, female). Having a redlinked category is a covert sign of rebellion (he and I are in one together "Wikipedians who are not a Wikipedian" (yes, that did involve a rebellion...)
  • SXSW: you will be fine in the techy stuff. Working in a 'control room' can be exhilerating and you have help to come running if you are in trouble. It all sounds overwhelming; happy you are so involved. I hope you enjoy all the music. I played drums during the early '80s and, during another show in the Village Subway (nicknamed the Raleigh Underground), happened to catch an early performance of R.E.M.: [2]. (I was taught to play by an almost famous enough person to have their own article (lack of sources, again), but several of his bands are on Wikipedia and he has mentions). Even with my conflict-of-interest I would probably write it if it would stick here. Unhappily, my life now has some sorrow; hence my page notice. I now edit Wikipedia...I am happy to be caught being a helpful friend. Thanks again; ttys. Fylbecatulous talk 21:12, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi Fylbecatulous. I'm sorry to hear you are having sorrow in your life. I'm aware of Jason & The Scorchers & like them. I looked at Jason Ringenberg & noticed several missing wiki links for Jason & The Scorchers, which I added. I went to add one for Jeff Johnson, but that has multiple links. I thought I knew how to add "musician" but apparently not. When I updated Austin Music Scene with links to Blondie & Joe Jackson, I noticed a dab_solver had run to fix them. I looked at how these were changed & tried the coding here, but didn't work. You might want to add it. I'm jealous that you play drums, I always wanted to play an instrument but alas never learned (and I certainly can't sing), but can only fantasize about being in a band, especially going on a tour. The closest I'll ever get to that would be a roadie - but I'm getting a bit old for that! there's always doing merchandise! Thanks for the update about drmies, I now understand his irreverence. I have a twisted sense of humor as well. 1 thing about doing research on bands for SXSW is getting to look at looks of music articles & see how they are coded. I've noted a few that I could edit after SXSW. Since a lot of bands get their exposure there, many don't have articles. So in looking at their other info, if I see 1 with lots of notations, I'll make a note for possible future add, maybe they'll be 1 of the bands that gets noticed at SXSW. I'm not nervous about doing the SXSW tech stuff, once I do 1 panel I'll be fine. My 1st shift is this tue! As if SXSW wasn't already crazy enough, they just announced that Obama is giving the Keynote speech 1st day of Interactive fri & Michele is doing the same for music on wed! The crowds are so insane & now you add security for them!! Never been to Raleigh, but it's always popping on lists about great places to live.

AddWittyNameHere, thank you for letting me know. In hindsight, I should have left a level-one twinkle with the link to my talk-page for questions. My bad. From now on I will consider more carefully. Hopefully, I have this sorted, even though it seems a rather complex situation. Many thanks again. Fylbecatulous talk 23:37, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
You're welcome. Yeah, it's always a matter of judgement, and I'm fairly sure the only folks who've never messed up something no matter how small on wikipedia are those who've never made more than a handful of edits. Best thing to keep in mind when it comes to vandalism is that, even though it feels like you're having to make snapshot decisions sometimes, that really only is the case in a very small portion of all vandalism or likely-vandalism edits, and of the stuff that should be reverted or reported on sight, the great majority of it is so blatant there is very little judgement needed. (And another bunch of the 'should be dealt with right NOW' stuff is stuff only admins can deal with anyway)
Most of the time, nothing is going to break if a likely 'bad' edit is allowed to stand for a minute or two to verify whether the removed content actually belonged in an article in the first place/that changed name isn't actually the undoing of earlier vandalism/that swear-word inserted in a quote isn't actually in the source it's quoted from/that blanked article isn't actually the article's creator and sole editor trying to delete it, or if there's a minute or two between a revert and the warning template so you can type out a personal addendum or even, in the case where you suspect a misunderstanding may be playing a role, forgoing the template altogether to 'just' leave a personal message.
Not saying you did anything wrong, mind—just something worth keeping in the back of your mind. And my own, or at least I try. (Though I'll probably have messed up somewhere at some point, because even with that extra minute or two it remains a matter of judgement, just not as much of a snapshot-judgement)
I hope the same, though if not, or if you need/want help untangling the complex situation or some advice or whatever, or a second person to explain stuff to that editor, lemme know and I'll look into it to see what I can do—or, if nothing, see who I think might be able to help. Austin band playing Raleigh

Hey Fylbecatulous, we haven't spoken in awhile & hope all is well. Wanted to let you know about a very popular Austin band I love - Mingo Fishtrap, that is playing tomorrow (7/28) at The Southland Ballroom. I think you might like them. They're part of the Austin Soul/R&B circle of bands. They have lots of common fans & members sometimes fill in for each others group i.e. their Keyboard Player fills in occasionally for The Nightowls. Sorry for short notice, let me know if you go & what you think. David R AustinTx (talk) 01:53, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

@David R AustinTx:, thanks for the note. Wish I could go. I watched their video "Movin" from the venue website. Very professional and quite funky! ツI am familiar with them and they have passed through Raleigh before. I hope they do well. The Southland Ballroom looks like a dive from the Google image, but it is in one of the best areas for nightlife and music in Raleigh. Actually a very upscale, classy area. The Mingo Fishtrap article does not impress (thanks to your faithful and fine upkeep to The Nightowls' article, that does make quite a difference!). There is not much advance press locally for tonight's show but Indy Week has a blurb. I will incorporate it into their article. Nice to hear from you and I too hope all is well with you. List of Cats page

Hello, Fylbecatulous. I've just been checking the page count stats for List of cats. For some reason, it has suddenly jumped to more than 15,000 hits in a single day, but is normally only about 200 or less. Any idea why? It's a mystery to me. Something in the news perhaps? Please see: [3] Cheers MatthewTStone (talk) 08:02, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

we know nuthin'... iz decidedly cat state.
@MatthewTStone:, astounding ! now it is about 18,000 for yesterday with 70 page watchers. Most of those are probably on the WikiProject Cats. We watch this list: recent changes or the project page itself: WP:WPCAT for the section "Hot articles". It is maintained by User:HotArticlesBot and even it reflects we have had only 18 edits to List of Cats within the last three days. I can think of nothing alarming or that interesting. All the other related pages have around 150 - 200. I quite like List of fictional cats and felines that has 121 page watchers and it is only getting around 75 pages views. Surely an error or an interesting anomaly. One of the pageview Tool Labs editors is MusikAnimal. Perhaps inquire on their page. Thanks and wishing you happy editing ツ Fylbecatulous talk 20:35, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
All those hits seem to be coming from 1 automated script. User:MusikAnimal can elaborate. Kaldari (talk) 20:48, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
It's possible it's a bot posing as a "user", but you can usually rule that out by comparing mobile/desktop pageviews, and both are showing an overall increase suggesting this is authentic. My guess is it's there's a post trending on Facebook, Reddit, etc, that links to this article. I personally would not directly correlate page watchers to pageviews. The former often do not view the page unless a change has been made, and for more popular articles the bulk of traffic is not from the editors. Hope this helps :) MusikAnimal talk 21:04, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Thanks Fylbecatulous and MusikAnimal... I've now established that 8 August 2016 was World Cat Day, at least according to some sources[4][5]. It was certainly a low profile event and I didn't see much publicity where I live. Indeed, possibly it was linked from Reddit or something similar. Cheers MatthewTStone (talk) 21:31, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
MatthewTStone, Kaldari and MusikAnimal, thanks for contributing to this solution. Lol, the cats have us fooled. Everyday is World Cat Day. If we are lucky, they celebrate us once a year. ツ meows and paw pats... Fylbecatulous talk 14:41, 11 August 2016 (UTC)

Dear Fylbecatulous,

Thank you for sending me a message about my edits to the Wikipedia page "Hurricane (Halsey Song)" I read the "TalkPage Rules," but I am not sure if what I have to say conforms to the rules or not. Could you please email me at director@cityroom.com

Thank you kindly in advance!

Hi, Julie Sevigny, I am notifying you by WP:ECHO that I am talking to you from my talk page and you should receive a notice. But in case you are unaware of this system I am also going to let you know on your talk page that I have replied and to come here to read it. Thanks for inquiring.
Sorry I do not have email enabled for Wikipedia and I am much in favour of maintaining transparency. Most conversations are not secret and anyone who has my page on their watchlist is free to comment as well.
Also, this sounds as if it will be something I cannot handle (lowly editor, not even an administrator). I really have no clue what you need to discuss, but I can suggest two options: one is the Wikipedia:OTRS noticeboard, if this is something you can ask in the open. Or please contact The Volunteer Response Team (WP:OTRS) itself by email. They are our designated group of volunteers who answer most e-mail sent to Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation. Please click through to both these blue links to decide what to do or who to contact. You may also receive an invitation to the WP:Teahouse since I welcomed you. I wish you the best... Scottish fold

I agree with your tag on the Scottish fold article, regarding problems with the pop culture section - but may I suggest you discuss your reasons for placing it in the article's Talk page? That might help generate discussion which can enlighten some of the editors. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 15:54, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

DavidWBrooks, I am sorry, but right now I cannot possibly care this much. I haz not the emotional energy. One cat. I am going to apologise to the editor and undo my tag to the page. I should have left this alone at my: Revision as of 12:31, 2016 October 23. Somehow the enchantment that I mention in my edit notice has vanished. meow. About garage rock article

Hi, this is Garagepunk66. You made some good points in the thread. I want to let you know that I'll try to be flexible if there is to be a split there. All I ask is that, if we are to do the split, that it get done right, and that the article not get destroyed. Ilovetopaint is a very good editor, but sometimes he can be too stringent. But, there is also a painful personal situation involving one of the other editors, that caused me to feel like I was in a hostile environment. I don't own the article but I've darn near broken my back for it (900 citations and 320 KBs isn't an easy task), so I hope that people can userstand how I feel right now. I'm afraid that so much I've worked hard for is about to go down the drain. Garagepunk66 (talk) 23:45, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

sorry. all the best to you, but where are my hearts and flowers? no drama or discussion about this article here. iz my page. peace stays.
... no alarming the cat ... 'hostile environment'? ... lol, no.

Nothing meant badly

No alarming the cat !!

I'm sorry if my latest comment was taken badly, it was not meant to demean anyone, but just a way of asking people to be fair--but in a light and humorous way. I meant no harm. I meant no harm to TheGracefulSlick, I was just using the remark to convey to you that you have to see that we all exaggerate things at time, that I am not alone in that. Its been a stressful situation for me. That's all. I was just asking for your understanding. I was using humor to convey it in a kind way that wouldn't be taken harshly. I shouldn't have brought it up. Sorry. I'm very stressed-out. I have been working on the reductions like I promised. Please, just a plea for fairness. Garagepunk66 (talk) 13:56, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

Garagepunk66, have you bothered to read my page notice in my edit window? Do so now. If I did not make myself clear enough in your last visit to my talk page (my fault, I accept because I was trying to be kind by commenting in my image captions: please read them now: [6] (moment of silence for you to read...) This is not all about you. We all (I hope) have feelings. Actually, I invented stress. Hence my page notice that I insist upon. So: there will be no discussing this article or anything else about you and your life and your stress upon my talk page. My fangs are bared. Fylbecatulous talk 15:13, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
You don't need to worry, I like you very much as a cat-person, and I enjoy your sense of humor. Regardng TheGracefulSlick, he has been my closest collaborator and someone that I have considered like a brother and a cherished friend and colleague. We have worked together and covered a lot of the same topics (that is why I deleted the messages on my talk page--it was out of consideration for him). In light of that, I am going to take his criticisms on a public talk page about my most time-consuming project harder than if they came from people I don't know. Initially, he seemed to be taking the hardest line of anyone. I hope that he and everyone can be willing to evolve on this issue. But, I realize that everyone has to come to their own judgments. I just ask everyone to be fair in considering my position, whether they end up agreeing with it or not. I'll be working hard to make the article more palatable for everybody. I deeply regret any hard feelings. It has been a difficult time for me. I won't bring it up again, so no need to draw fangs. Meow! Garagepunk66 (talk) 15:40, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

You call that vandalism?

You messaged me to indicate that my edit to the Schrödinger's Cat page constituted vandalism. I do not agree that changing "Australian dingologist" to "Austrian physicist" for the nationality and occupation of Erwin Schrödinger constitutes vandalism. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you were merely mistaken, and do not in fact have rocks in your head, as was my first guess.

I'm user BlackNBlue, just registered and still figuring out how to sign.— Preceding unsigned comment added by BlackNBlue (talkcontribs) 06:01, 2016 December 27 (UTC)

BlackNBlue, thank you for coming to my page to rightly complain. To have one of your first good edits be wrongly blamed as vandalism is unhappily a bad way for me to welcome a new user. Instead, I bit a newbie. (click through to WP:BITE). I hope I have made the amends I need by warning the offending user, and apologising to you as both the IP editor and now registered. You should receive a notice that I have replying to you on my talk page. I left you a welcome message, because you are a good editor. Again, please accept my apology and I do wish you happier editing on Wikipedia. Fylbecatulous talk 11:31, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

Black cat on Fluffy...(yes this is the actual name ツ)
The question remains though ... can one cat be fluffy and non-fluffy at the same time? Or would two cats exist in separate probability clouds – one being fluffy, while the other is non-fluffy? MatthewTStone (talk) 04:13, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
MatthewTStone, thank you. The only solution now is to add the overdue pweshious cat image to this conversation (per the rule of Ritchie333) to illustrate cat states of fluffiness (and furriness according to that revision). These articles certainly get a lot of playfulness. ("Cat state" was hooves-in-bay wrong for a month...) But how would we account for shedding in two diametrically opposed conditions at the same time? Thank you

Thanks again for helping with the Huawei Honor 8‎ article. I wasn't sure how long it might take for the changes to be reverted without a heads up, hence my talk page request. If you're open to the idea of assisting with another edit request I submitted a few weeks ago to make a minor update to one sentence in the Jonathan Karp article, you can view my request at Talk:Jonathan Karp. If you're uninterested, no worries! I just thought I'd ask in case you helped with other edit requests. Either way, thanks again! Inkian Jason (talk) 03:37, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

@Inkian Jason:. Yes, I do read through most requests, always willling to assist, but skip most. ツ They are usually complex, requiring research or taking sides in disputes or just impossibly dense. Yours are direct and well stated and it is a pleasure. Inquire of me anytime. Happy requesting and editing. Fylbecatulous talk 14:07, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
I certainly appreciate your help and kind words. I try to keep edit requests concise and as easy as possible for editors to review. I might take you up on your offer at some point, but in the meantime, thanks again for assisting. Inkian Jason (talk) 15:37, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Hello, again! I am struggling to get someone to review this edit request to expand and update the CTIA – The Wireless Association article. I submitted the request back in January, and one editor liked the proposed changes and volunteered to work on improvements, but is busy and one month later the article has changed little. This is one of those more complicated edit requests, requiring review of a proposed draft, but the markup is ready to implement as long as someone deems the content accurate and fair. I've posted to several WikiProjects and individuals asking for help, but to no avail. Is this something you would be interested in helping with? If not, I completely understand. I'm also open to suggestion for other places to ask for editor assistance, if you're aware of any venues other than WikiProjects and the edit request queue. Just thought I'd ask! Inkian Jason (talk) 16:29, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

Good evening, Inkian Jason, as I'm sure you've noticed, I have crept over in my cat feet and boldly begun to edit. As I said there, if you have no other takers (which is usually the case (I have left someone standing at the altar on another request because she overturned my close and no one has gone to assist)...here is my theory. I create articles and patrol on Simple English and am a trusted editor there. Until they took our powers away I was patrolling / reviewing aricles on enwiki as well. As you last request was replied with: sure, like I said, I have some things to deal with in real life so not sure when I can find the time. There is no "ownership" in Wikipedia, so anyone can edit. and if they know the guidelines it is more likely their work would stick, of course. I have no idea what problems have been seen but I will attempt to parse them from your request page. Do you mind if I comment on the talk page of your draft and you can then amend in your draft and then I can move completed content into the actual article as we gain concensus (again, us,...) Oh, and I have know quidelines since 2011. I foresee complete transfer soon and I can't imagine if it is done in stages; that anyone will come and complain or revert. If so, where are they now and why are there 134 unanswered requests? Fylbecatulous talk 00:37, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
Hi, Fylbecatulous. Thank you for starting to improve the main space article based on the proposed draft. You are welcome to use the draft talk page if you have questions or concerns, otherwise I will continue to monitor the edit request on the article’s talk page to follow along as you review content and copy over as appropriate. Thank you very much for taking this on. Inkian Jason (talk) 16:37, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

NinaSpezz, you are not awaiting my help. You overturned my very respectful close and argued with me: [7]. I would have been happy to work on a new section as requested. NinaSpezz, then obviously, please await community input. Although assuming good faith, I am well aware of WP:PAYTALK. On that basis, please do not come to my talk page again, or ping me. Fylbecatulous talk 19:47, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

…for the infobox edit, at Steffany Gretzinger. The "solo" designation that you added—where can I find the other options for this data field? This solo does not seem full accurate. Cheers, will look in here. Le Prof 73.210.155.96 (talk) 01:13, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Good morning, Leprof 7272, it appears that sometimes you sign in and sometimes not and didn't sign with your exact editor name here, so I hope you receive this ping notification because it does not work for IP address editors.
Got it, thanks. Note, my user page is as boring as yours is lively. Cheers. Le Prof Leprof 7272 (talk) 00:15, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
I am going to answer here and also place links on the article talk page. I have also placed the WikiProject Musicians banner at the top in the WikiProject Biography banner, where you can link through to see infobox information. Even though it seems the format as designated in a word category is limiting, you will probably find the others do not fit exactly either. But the infobox is a template and allowable parameters to use in any template are built into the template. You can't make up your own parameters to use with an existing template.
So first when an editor places a made up parameter or it is not yet filled in on a page with the infobox, it ends up in this Category:Infobox musical artist with missing or invalid Background field. An administrator has nicely placed the directions on the category to help explain. If you look back at the history of the article in this diff where you edited; [8] down at the bottom of the article in the categories you can see the blue-linked category. Click through to see the list of articles and the instructions (which I have also added below)
Click through here and scroll down for instructions for use: Template:Infobox_musical_artist. The directions for choosing a background are rather constrained but they are only these and one must be used. If you enter anything else (ie 'rapper' it will be an error). The background decides not only the category, but also the identifying background color for the infobox. Below you can see tthe entire six parameters, but I believe the 'solo_singer' designation is the correct choice. (she sings, no matter what else she does, so she is a 'solo_singer'.)
Hope this helps. I am also going to comment on the article talk page I think. Hope you find this helpful. ツ Thanks Fylbecatulous talk 11:47, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Re: Draft:James F. Allen (businessman)

Greetings, Fylbecatulous! You helped me with the CTIA article not too long ago (thanks again!), and I'm wondering if you might be available to help with a different article. I recently submitted this draft article for James F. Allen, who serves as chairman of Hard Rock International and CEO of Seminole Gaming and has led the Seminole Tribe of Florida's gaming operations since 2001, on his behalf and as part of my work with Beutler Ink.

However, the draft was declined by User:SwisterTwister for being "Too suggestive of an advertised business profile for clients, notability cannot be inherited from others and the sources are largely consisting of simple announcements, local business journals, notices and similar." I posted a reply on the draft's talk page, and received a response in the form of an additional AfC comment that said the sources were "not significant weight-ful of notability, including because they include local business publications and similar". I'm not entirely sure what this means because I thought the sources used are considered major publications (for example, Forbes and The Press of Atlantic City). I'm hoping you or another editor can help by confirming notability. My goal remains to have the draft deemed accurate and neutral, and moved into the main space.

I appreciate the AfC process and SwisterTwister's review of the draft, but this process has not really provided specific ways to improve the draft, so I'm reaching out to other editors for additional input. I've posted requests for feedback at WikiProject Biography, WikiProject Gambling, WikiProject United States, and on the Hard Rock Cafe and Seminole Tribe of Florida talk pages, but so far no one has responded. Might you be willing to review this draft? Thanks in advance for any help. Inkian Jason (talk) 19:24, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Inkian Jason, hello and thanks for seeking me out. In this case there is an insurmountable barrier. As I posted earlier on this talk page (maybe) I no longer have the WP:NPPR (the right to patrol newly created articles). I do on Simple English Wikipedia and I earned it there from the admins by creating good articles that were ready to go live without much or any oversite. There I am a trusted user and love the articles I have written. It also gives me the freedom to judge other new pages, tag for deletion (quick and discussion) patrol as approved, improve and amend ad lib. As you say the process here is so much a barrier I have never created an article here. Truly a paradox... I would love to help but I have no power to approve, or move your article draft. A number of us did so in the past unilaterally and I liked working through the new pages feed. It is a toss-up though whether an article stands a better chance in the AfC queue or just submitting it live into article space and hoping for a friendly editor (or one who watches your work) to patrol it and not delete. But we peanut gallery types lost the rights when they decided only qualified creators could patrol. I can help you with further 'requested edits' as I did before on already existing articles and happily. We worked well together and I never blinked at the quality of your sources. I am actually aware of your draft... sigh... As always, best regards. Fylbecatulous talk 20:04, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
OK, I understand and thanks for explaining. I thought most editors could move drafts into the main space, but no problem. If you have any feedback on the draft’s sourcing or his notability, or know of an editor who may be willing to help, I’d much appreciate it. Inkian Jason (talk) 20:44, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Inkian Jason: editors at certain levels (and I am certainly there), may move from user draft space to article space, but lacking the patroller right, they must still await eventual or immediate patrol by someone who holds the right to approve. Have you requested help from WP:WPAFC/HD (Wikipedia Articles for Creation help desk)? I am fond of WikiProjects and you may receive more enlightenment there as to what needs to be done. It seems your draft is trapped in a prison named AfC and you and the reviewer are deadlocked. The idea is either that an editor improves the article to the needed specifications, accepts the decline, gives up and eventualy it becomes an abandoned draft submission. With two negative remarks from your reviewer I can't predict how much you are going to be able to override that negative standstill without a major rewrite with apparently new sources...Any editor you ask now to help rescue your draft, will so far as I understand, have to have the WP:NPPR right granted to assist you. Here is that list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ListUsers/patroller (admins are not listed because they automatically have to right amongst their tools). My bold suggestion is write again the draft in your user space (just as you did for you desired reivisions to CTIA). Any editor is free to assist you within your user page draft, comment on talk page, agree to boldly submit directly by a page move to article space and hope that revisions will be made at that point. (you may for example get maintenance tags, but at least you could add your categories and banners and it appears a real article. good luck with your quest, however you plan to proceed... Fylbecatulous talk 22:27, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for taking a look at Talk:James F. Allen (businessman). I am also looking for some assistance here if you are interested. Inkian Jason (talk) 17:38, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

You've been so helpful. Thanks again! Inkian Jason (talk) 16:31, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
@Inkian Jason: You are welcome as always. I usually notice all the requests, (even Vianovo, but I held off since you were pinging others, out of courtesy). If it comes to the point where you are placing notices at WikiProjects (does that ever work, because I believe the proper response would be to request on the article talk page and beyond the scope of Projects themselves) please just ping me personally. As long as I am active and you can tell so from my recent edits,I should show up. I am not forgetting the image for Mr. Allen. It is a mystery.[ [Primer (film)|It has elapsed its six hours in the time machine and has now become a paradox]]. I believe I will take care of this now, since I do trust you that it is probably fine; just dropped behind the filing cabinet. ツ Fylbecatulous talk 12:25, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
Hello, Fylbecatulous! None of the editors I've pinged to help with the edit request on the Talk:Honor (brand) page. If you're willing and interested, I don't think this edit request would take long to review. There are just a few sentences for your consideration. If not interested, no worries! I can always wait for editors at the technology WikiProjects to help. Inkian Jason (talk) 16:03, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
@Inkian Jason, thank you for asking. Hopefully, it is as you expected. I did a bit of cleanup ahead of adding your text. Of course, others are adding edits and I did remove some spam links. Another edit has been made since I signed off. It seems good, but I do not have your knowledge to discern accuracy. Spam I am much against... if you are ever fretting over something that has been tinkered with, in any of these Honor pages, ask to have it undone right away. Happy editing, Fylbecatulous talk 11:16, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

With regards to Steph Lynn Robinson

I have never met her in person, it was simply an ad that was posted on a website. I'm familiar with wikipedia rules, it's simply a matter that I felt it was ethical to report a conflict of interest and all she wanted was her credits updated. I've laid out the case on that page and wanted to be as ethical as possible, that's why I've submitted edits for Peer Review.--Jack Cox (talk) 18:53, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Jack Cox, hello. Where did you submit edits for peer review? It appears you placed your statement declaring your conflict of interest and that you wished to change her article, but disclose your paid status first. Within 19 minutes your edited the article directly. This is a page with fewer than 30 watchers and the requested edits list is backlogged. Please be patient. There are currently 178 requests waiting for review. I just answered one yesterday that had been placed October 2016. Optimally how this works (and please read through CAT:EDITREQ to compare) is an editor asks the request in detail on the article talk page exactly what they want changed along with the citations and then wait for assistance. Please click through and read Talk:Meredith Attwell Baker for some good recent activity with someone I assist as a volunteer editor. Finally, you did still need to receive the Conflict-of-Notice template on your talk page. It places you in a category and it seems that the guidelines and FAQS links would be helpful guidance. Wishing you the best, Fylbecatulous talk 19:43, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

I apologize, I didn't know whether I would disclose and edit, or edit and disclose. Please forgive me, I did feel it was right to acknowledge my conflict. I wasn't sure how the process works. It was in good faith and I thought primarily that since it was simply some other roles she did it wasn't going to be a major issue, as with say something more personal. It was in no means to be flagrant, I was trying to be respectful and explain the situation. I do know that Wikipedia has stringent policies on things and I think she didn't understand that and that's why she wanted someone who didn't know her. I do not know her personally having only interacted with her today.--Jack Cox (talk) 22:21, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Thank you. :@Jack Cox: All is well. There is so much to learn and know here. We each have our little corners of experience or mastery. Not to worry, You made entirely WP:good faith attempts and met someone peaceful to work with you. Happy editing. Fylbecatulous talk 23:49, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Edit requests

Thanks again for assisting with the Punit Renjen talk page request. You've been very helpful with edit requests in the past, and I was wondering if you might be willing to help with another project. I've published drafts for the Move (company) and Realtor.com articles here and here, on behalf of Move. There are edit requests on both article talk pages. One editor requested some changes for the Realtor.com draft, and I've addressed these concerns as far as I know, and they said they may not revisit the article or subsequent edit requests. Would you happen to be interested in reviewing either of these drafts? The drafts are not terribly long, so I'm hoping reviews won't take too much time. No problem if you're not interested or don't have time. I just thought I'd ask since the edit requests have been posted for some time now, and my attempts to get reviews at WikiProjects has not been successful. Thanks! Inkian Jason, you are welcome as always. It is my opinion that WikiProjects talk page requests never seem to spring to action. WikiProjects are independent and self-willed or withering-on-the-vine and although I am a member of many I do not think I ever read the project pages themselves. We just seem to focus on article banners and related talk page concensus (maybe) and watchlists for vandalism...I will take a look at both and let you know / or comment further there. I am not as available as I have been, but if I take a fancy to one, I will try my best. Thank you again for your work on Wikipedia and for seeking me for help. Thanks for taking a look. Inkian Jason (talk) 18:18, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
If you decide you're not able to help at this time, that's ok, I will try to find some other WikiProjects and editors to message. Inkian Jason (talk) 16:17, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
Greetings, Inkian Jason. If you check my contributions, my last edit was this one above to you. I just haven't been on, but I did take a look at both rather superficially. I got stuck in the infobox controversy in Realtor.com. I would add the infobox but without the disputed content (the website itself has the images and the screenshot is not commonly applied in any articles with which I cross paths; but I am not a company person...) or all the empty parameters with the hidden comments. They just add empty bytes to the page load. I have both articles and your drafts on my watchlist now, but please go ahead and message requests. After all this is your career. I do think the article with the negative comments will be a difficult one to fish. Perhaps if you did divide your requests into smaller chores, it might be better. Even I, the brave, shudder at the tasks as requested. Much luck and all the best. Fylbecatulous talk 20:19, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. The infobox "controversy" is not much of a controversy. An editor is simply concerned about the license justification at Wikimedia Commons, but I did not upload either image. I'm just using the image that already appears in the current Realtor.com article, so I'm not sure how me using this same file is problematic.
I would be fine with you or someone else updating the infobox without the screenshot, if that's the concern. Also, I prefer to leave empty infobox parameters so people can easily fill them in later, but I went ahead and removed the empty parameters for now, per your suggestion. If you have any time to review and copy over any sections on either draft, I'd be happy to adjust the edit requests appropriately. I am always fine working section by section, but figured these drafts might be short enough for someone to review altogether. If you don't have time or interest, I understand. I bring you flowers. I wish everyone peace and enchantment. I want to affirm other editors' projects. I like peace and enchantment too. Do you have any peace and flowers? We all need it sometime. Garagepunk66 (talk) 04:12, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
