Speedy deletion of Ram Kumar Goswami[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ram Kumar Goswami requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ged UK (talk) 10:47, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gogameri Cricket Club, Ajeetpura[edit]

A tag has been placed on Gogameri Cricket Club, Ajeetpura, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Gogameri Cricket Club, Ajeetpura is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Gogameri Cricket Club, Ajeetpura saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:L p.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:L p.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Your uploads[edit]

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! File copyright problem with File:Pune skyline 10.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Pune skyline 10.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:23, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I've created a new page that is Gogameri Cricket Club. I had created a page about this club in the past also but you people deleted that because I couldn't prove how the club was notable. But this time I have a good reason to tell you. Look, this is a great club of this region, that's why it deserves a name for it self on the Wikipedia. People want it to see on Wikipedia, I mean, there are a lot of feelings about this club in the hearts of the die hard fans. You might not find it in newspapers or somewhere else because the clubs from small towns don't make it to the big stage but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't have any existence on the biggest encyclopedia of the planet. I think that's enough to prove the importance of the club. --G s rathore (talk) 16:36, 19 December 2011 (UTC)GS Rathore[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. How can I prove the notability?[edit]

Tell me how can I prove that the club is notable. Give me some suggestions. I mean, how can you say that a club which haven't made it to the big stage is not qualified for an article on the Wikipedia. I say, come on. That's not fair. Just tell me what can I do?

Probably nothing. You seem to already understand that in order to meet the standard of notability for Wikipedia, you need to cite reliable sources, and show that the topic has received significant coverage. See, the thing about an encyclopedia is that it compiles information that people have already written about its subjects. It's not meant to be the primary source for that information. So, since you've already stated that your club has not been written about in newspapers, it's likely that it doesn't merit mention on Wikipedia.
On a side note, I see that articles about or related to your club have been created by you on multiple occasions over the years, and all of them have been deleted. I imagine you're already well acquainted with what you needed to do to show that your club was notable. I think it's time to move on. Steamroller Assault (talk) 17:13, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
