Cases Missing From List[edit]

If there are any cases left out of my unverified China table, let me know by posting them here. This includes any case from China, including immigration/emigration cases (Born in China, lived elsewhere - or born elsewhere, lived in China) Gabe A (talk) 20:06, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

transformation to dts[edit]

Unfortunately, while I can take the table over to a UNIX system and use sed to convert the date fields, I lose the Chinese characters in the process, so that is out. You can leave the month in that form, so Oct 31 1990 can be transformed to {{dts|1990|Oct|31}}. Not sure how much that helps. :( Naraht (talk) 15:49, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hi Gabe,

Please notify me on my talk page if you find any new cases, any updates, or recent deaths on ANY of these cases. OR can you post them to the 110 Club? Thank you. I have added all the possible cases that I can to the living supercentenarians page. The others have been added to a project page due to some being unreliable sources, or either no report on or past their 110th birthday. Currently, they are pending for a report.

Here are some cases that are of note:

Of note:

  • 107-year-old lady (in November 2009) in China (article in Czech) named Chen Jia-wa [1]
  • 107-year-old lady (in January 2009) named Wang Guiying [2]
  • Wu Xiuying is a female (according to editors on Wikipedia)
  • Wu Xizhen was born 13 February 1899 [3]
  • Lucila Uc Chan of Mexico was born in 1910 [4]
  • Hou Manjin was born in 1902 [5]
  • Izabel Emiliana de Oliveira of Brazil died. [6]
  • Margarito Molina of Mexico died. [7]

Your contributions have been gold. Thank you once again, sir. --Nick Ornstein (talk) 02:44, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Updates[edit]

  • 6 March 2011: All the cases you have sent to me are ALL in the proper place. Thank you Gabe!

1 more note: Peng Lanying was born in 1900. http://www.xiangtan.cn/html/news_19595.htm --Nick Ornstein (talk) 19:28, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • 20 March 2011: I have taken care of the cases that you have informed me about. Thank you! --Nick Ornstein (talk) 21:39, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • 26 March 2011: All updates are finished, Gabe. Thank you! And just to reduce your workload, can you inform me about 108+ year old living cases that have had an update within the past 3 years. I am sorry I didn't tell you before. We all dearly appreciate all of the sweat and tears you have invested in getting all of these Chinese cases, and Brazilian cases together, and on top of that being organized. We could not have been able to do any of this without you.
  • 29 March 2011: Thank you for updates! They are finished. --Nick Ornstein (talk) 00:39, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You forgot to add that Li Shuzhen was born in December 1900 on your userpage. She is still remained listed as 1900, in case you didn't catch that. --Nick Ornstein (talk) 19:51, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciate the compliments. I collect all the cases with an age claim of 108 or older, regardless of last update, and even if they died before reaching 110. I will use the same standards for Latin American cases. Gabe A (talk) 04:41, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • 11 April 2011: Every Chinese case is where they need to be. Thank you very much! Please keep me informed. --Nick Ornstein (talk) 00:29, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • ALL April 2011: Every case is in the proper place. Even your most recent post of the 115-year-old claimant living in Mexico. Thanks! --Nick Ornstein (talk) 19:48, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • 1 May 2011: ALL cases updated that you posted to 110 Club. I prefer you posting the updates on Chinese and Latin American cases to the 110 Club, like how you have been doing for the past few days. Thank you!

Do you want me to continue informing you on the updates? It doesn't bother me at all. --Nick Ornstein (talk) 23:38, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • 13 & 14 May 2011: ALL Chinese and Latin American cases (as usual) are updated. --Nick Ornstein (talk) 21:46, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Backtrack[edit]

Please keep posting Chinese cases that have either passed away, updated, and new. I will need to sit down one day and spend time updating it. I have just been taking a mini hiatus. --Nick Ornstein (talk) 17:36, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes this method seems better, I will keep doing it. The woman that died yesterday seems to be the second Chinese death that I am aware of, since that man in March. Yes keep posting me on updates. Gabe A (talk) 00:30, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I updated those cases by the way after taking that short hiatus last month. I forgot to inform you. And yes, I will keep you updated (see update above today). --Nick Ornstein (talk) 10:54, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Another case[edit]

Good to know, but not old enough to include, since there's no news on survival since that date, which would mean he/she was only nearly 105.
I'm welcome to adding more cases anytime, though I've already exhausted my search efforts for more. So now it is mostly a waiting game on updates. Much like Japan, China seems to release lists of oldest towards the beginning of fall each year, with few reports of birthdays and deaths in between...Gabe A (talk) 21:07, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

China cases[edit]

Two additional cases I have posted above you forgot to add to the list:

  • 107-year-old lady (in November 2009) in China (article in Czech) named Chen Jia-wa [8]
  • 107-year-old lady (in January 2009) named Wang Guiying [9] --Nick Ornstein (talk) 21:10, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If the 107 year olds are close to turning 108, and have not died before doing so, I will add them on the list. However I will remove them if they pass away before, otherwise it would be contradictory to the title. I prefer to just add 107 year olds born in 1903 though. Feel free to post them on this talk page though, until confirmation is received on their status. Gabe A (talk) 01:44, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edited tables in your user page[edit]

The tables in your user page were using a deprecated template to display static row numbers (i.e., Excel-like row numbers) that don't sort with the table. I replaced those deprecated template uses with {{static row numbers}}. (This is to clean up pages, such as your user page, that appeared in the tracking category Category:Articles with tables with fixed row numbers. Please let me know if my edits caused any issues. Thanks!  — sbb (talk) 03:31, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
