Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, GabrielAmmirata. Gabriel,

I am deeply sorry for the loss that you and your loved ones have suffered. From the description of Peter that I've read, your lives were elevated by having known him, and the pain of having him taken from you in the way that he was must be unbearable, something that people your age (and no one, really) should never been expected to endure. I am humbled by the courage of Peter's sacrifice, and touched by your desire to want to contribute to his Wikipedia article, which in a way, represents a time capsule of his legacy.

However, as you know, Wikipedia requires that material added to you its articles be accompanied by citations of reliable sources, and that it be supported by those citations. The citation for the material you added does not make any mention of his card game interests, nor does it reference you, either by name, or by the phrase "a friend." However, I wanted to try to avoid removing all of your contributions entirely if it could be avoided, I read the cited news article, and noticed some material from that news story that could be added to replace the uncited stuff, namely the fact that he died wearing his JROTC shirt, and that he was survived by his parents and two younger brothers.

However, if you happen to come across a reliable, published source for other info about him, whether it's his interest in Yu-Gi-Oh!, or anything else appropriate for inclusion, feel free to let me know. As someone from a community that has lost citizens to horrific tragedy, and who has attempted to do his minor part to spread awareness, I'd be honored to add it to his article, so long as it conforms to Wikipedia policies and guidelines.

In the meantime, I hope and assume that you and others in your community have been coming together to provide succor to one another in this time of grief.
