Notability of Derek Sigafoo

A tag has been placed on Derek Sigafoo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ϢereSpielChequers 17:27, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to create a new article, please do not do so over a disambiguation page or by moving the disambiguation page. Rather, choose a title that clearly and succinctly differentiates the subject from others of the same name. For example Matt McCoy (Iowa politician). Additionally, before creating an article, check at WP:BIO to ensure that the subject is notable. Creating an article on a non-notable subject will lead to its eventual (and sometimes speedy) deletion from Wikipedia. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 23:46, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedily Deleted Articles[edit]

Carolanne Evans, Lydia Bell, Ashley Niven, and Sigafoo, which you created, have been deleted because they failed to assert notability. Before re-creation, please ensure they meet the notability guidelines listed at WP:BIO. Note that repeated re-creation of deleted articles may be considered disruption, so you may wish to consult with another Wikipedia user (such as myself) before re-creating articles to ensure they meet the notability requirements, noting that articles which fail to at least assert notability are subject to speedy deletion. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 23:52, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not make personal attacks as you did at User:Gabs7a. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images, especially those in violation of our Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy, will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 01:07, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
