A tag has been placed on Çärjew requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. -- BeezHive (talk|contribs) 12:26, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
English names
[edit]Please use English names, or the name that a place, or person, is usually known as in English, for article titles. See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English). As the Manual of Style says: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (places)#Use English but foreign and historical names can be acceptable in some cases Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names): use modern English names for titles and in articles. Historical names or names in other languages can be used in the lead if they are frequently used and important enough to be valuable to readers, and should be used in articles with caution.]] --Bejnar (talk) 00:01, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Ashgabat
[edit]Regarding your edits on 5 October 2008 to the Mikhail Skobelev article, Ashgabat is the current English orthography for the capital of Turkministan. The former English orthography was Ashgabad. Aşgabat is the Turkmen spelling. Please use the appropriate English spelling in accordance with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English). --Bejnar (talk) 22:24, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Renaming of articles
[edit]Please stop. If you continue to move pages to titles which do not conform to Wikipedia standards without discussion, you may become the subject of a RfC process or even be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Such page moves constitute disruptive editing, as they are a rejection on your part of community input.
If you have problems with a particular naming convention, such as Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English), you should discuss it with other editors either at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (use English) or Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions. Do not simply ignore it and continue to move pages against the direction of these Wikipedia standards. Grutness...wha? 23:17, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
