Your link additions to 1970 FIFA World Cup[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page 1970 FIFA World Cup do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:07, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

September 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Brazil national football team has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bbeautifulteam\.net\b' .

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! License tagging for File:Brett.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Brett.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:07, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Brett.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Brett.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:49, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a vested interest?[edit]

Just doing some checking. Do you have a vested interest in these articles

It is not usual for that level of interest to be taken in such detail. Thanks. 112.213.156.24 (talk) 14:20, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This seems like a perfectly reasonable question in the circumstances, and one worthy of an answer. Not addressing such reasonable questions lends further suspicion to motives. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:46, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sorry not to get back to you more quickly. I have been away on Easter vacation. I'm a fairly successful author myself and am intending to build a series of biographies and profiles on books and authors that I think deserve more recognition and widespread acknowledgment. I realise that my idea of what deserves recognition may differ from Wikipedia's so I read very carefully the notable persons criteria. As a result, in building this first profile of Alegre-Wood and his prize-winning book, I constructed it in a way that met those criteria. I am going to do the same thing for Lesley Thomson and Adam Perrott the other unheralded winners of the People's Book Prize. I will then move on to other authors whom I consider meet the criteria. Have I done something wrong? I have no vested interest in Mr Alegre-Wood or his book nor the People's Book Prize. I don't monitor my wikipedia mail often but will keep an eye out for a reply. Can I add a re-direct from 'My Talk' to my personal email? Best, Garry Jenkins 16:00, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Oh, and regarding my level of interest in detail, I have come to wikipedia from google's knol experiment where I constructed many pages which have a very high level of detail. If it's any help you can check them out here http://knol.google.com/k/garry-jenkins/-/19tjln1ywaolr/0#knols... This might be a good example to look at: http://knol.google.com/k/the-dog-its-origins-evolution# Thanks again, Garry Jenkins Garryjenkins (talk) 16:00, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Restoration of an article[edit]

Restoring a previously deleted article is a very simple process. Most admininistrators will restore articles they deleted if asked. Just provide some evidence as to why the delete rationale is no longer valid. Sir Sputnik (talk) 19:50, 2 September 2011 (UTC) OK. Thanks very much for that. grj1958 (talk) 22:52, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
