re: Changes were made to slavery in America because of mis-quotes from presented sources[edit]

There's a few things that should be included with an edit. First, please use the edit summary every time you make a change to an article. Summarizing what changes you've made will not only help other editors who are monitoring articles and their development, it will also increase the chances that your edit will "stick". An explanation of what's been changed in an edit goes a long way in convincing others that the edit is indeed legitimate. Lots of shenanigans here on WP.

The other thing that is even more of a game-changer is the inclusion of a reliable source. Again, if an edit includes a reference that is reliable, and the contents of the edit match that of the reliable source, it will be looked upon as an improvement to the article.
