Keith Bostic

Is there a reason why you do not choose one of the Keith Bostic (football player) hooks. I have never seen a fifth day time request be ignored before and have made several.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 15:50, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

You still did not explain why you are ignoring a reasonable fifth day time request. I think now you are spiting me or something.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:02, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
No, I've posted a reply on your talk page. Gatoclass (talk) 16:06, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for including the hook. I think you may be missing the point that date requests are very common for the main page. Both WP:TFA and WP:POTD use them all the time to improve the quality of the main page by making it more relevant. For example, my only WP:FP is likely going to be on the main page for Opening Day. In this case, I consciously expanded an article five days before I wanted it to goo on the main page because of an event that would be occurring on that date. I think these types of requests should be encouraged.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:31, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Do you think DYK should have a formal agreed protocol for date requests?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:49, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

you're welcome

Fair notice

I'm obligated to inform you of my request to User:Ioeth, as you've demonstrated you believe you are owed a degree of respect which you don't believe you owe to editors of Eastern European heritage--demanding apologies while offering none of your own, especially as it appears that every exchange only confirms to you your low opinion of the editorial community your consider your opposition. —PētersV (talk) 17:34, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I've responded to yours on Ioeth's talk. If you took a moment to consider that perhaps my actions aren't motivated by a bad faith attempt to pillory you, we might make some progress. I've already told you what you need to do to extract yourself out of the death spiral. You walked into a situation you were not familiar with, things got off on a bad foot, and you made some particularly bad choices in assuming bad faith, as in wondering if Turgidson set you up. When someone tells me that my quest to dispel the legacy of half a century of Soviet lies and oppression proves your assertion of the possibility of axe-grinding, that is not the road to consensus. My motivation? I recently read that some Soviet "historian" just published a book based on Estonian archives "proving" the deportation of Baltic peoples in cattle cars is all a big lie. My perspective? Try this for some reading on my web site: http://latvians.com/en/Reading/TheseNamesAccuse/ThNA-00-OurFamilies.php
To have someone even suggest remotely that my motivations are based on anything less than 100% integrity is a personal affront I have learned to not indulge on Wikipedia, as to let such thing go in the past has only been an invitation for more abuse. It's unfortunate that your actions have appeared to be in keeping with those of editors who have assaulted the community of Eastern European editors in the past. (Tagging articles as biased-especially right after creation--while not providing specifics related directly to content, e.g., "feeling" something is not they way they like it, is one of the most favored tactics.) I'm hoping an uninvolved editor (someone with whom I have ZERO relationship) can assist you to see that, as it's become quite apparent (my perception) that you've marked me as just another hostile party from the start. —PētersV (talk) 03:58, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

On bygones being bygones, that requires an apology for any behavior which might have been the source of misunderstanding. On the one hand you appear to be conciliatory, on the other, you refuse to back off of anything you have said at any time--which signals not conciliatory. It's not your initial position that's the problem, where I am personally concerned, at least, it's your "Aha! There's your proof blown up right in your face" response. And your musings whether Turgidson intended to set you up from the start. —PētersV (talk) 17:32, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

You appear upset (comment elsewhere) that I'm harping on requiring an apology. Your petard hoisting retort was an attack on my integrity. There have been so many vituperative attacks on Wikpedia on editors' integrity (including people outright being called Nazis) that one cannot simply walk away from aspersions cast on their integrity. You claim you've only wanted to achieve conciliation, this while nominating an article for AfD, opening up an AN/I and accusing multiple editors of breaches of incivility.
If you genuinely wish for bygones to be bygones, that will only be accomplished by your apologizing that you did not realize your actions (tagging, AfD, AN/I, accusations of incivility) mirrored attack tactics editors have regularly used in the past in attempts to discredit Eastern European positions and articles, and you regret all the misunderstanding that subsequently ensued, including appearing to confirm, as in your exchange with me, the cause of Eastern Europe shedding half a century of Soviet oppression and misinformation as axe-grinding.
I for one, and can only speak for myself, there is no bloc, am perfectly happy to acknowledge that I perceived your response to my defense of Eastern European editors as proof of bad faith on your part and your unwillingness to apologize as proof of your intransigence, and that it's not surprising the situation degenerated as it did.
I would venture there are two editors (assuming you haven't accused more) who would also expect you to retract your accusations of incivility.
Normally I wouldn't spend any more time on this, but being that you're not a regular editor in this pace, I suspect you have no idea that your behavior throughout this affair has mirrored classic attack tactics which the Eastern European editing community has been subjected to for a very long time. —PētersV (talk) 19:14, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Notice of editing restrictions

Notice: Under the terms of Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Digwuren, any editor working on topics related to Eastern Europe, broadly defined, may be made subject to an editing restriction at the discretion of any uninvolved administrator. Should the editor make any edits which are judged by an administrator to be uncivil, personal attacks, or assumptions of bad faith, he or she may be blocked for up to a week for each violation, and up to a month for each violation after the fifth. This restriction is effective on any editor following notice placed on his or her talk page. This notice is now given to you, and future violations of the provisions of this warning are subject to blocking.

Note: This notice is not effective unless given by an administrator and logged here.

FYI: The notice is dismissed since it's not coming from an uninvolved administrator [1]--Termer (talk) 08:40, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I have reviewed the situation and determined that Termer is incorrect in posting the message above. Thatcher is an uninvolved administrator as he has only taken part in Eastern European topics for the purposes of Arbitration Enforcement. His issuing of these notices is therefore valid and you are therefore bound by it, despite the above note from Termer. Thank you. Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 16:32, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Jaakobou ArbCom

I debated putting this on the evidence page here, but then decided against it. I don't know what problems there are at EE, but I don't believe I-P is as bad (perhaps partly for the reasons I give below!).

To Gatoclass -> I don't think we should be despondent. The biggest problem in I-P conflict articles is individual editors, badly informed and badly behaved. There is a third problem, which is bad sources. A big portion of this third problem could easily be dealt with by a modest extension of WP:EXTREME. We virtually bar all Palestinian sources at the moment, apparently on the basis they're all hate-sites. Apply that same standard to Western sources, and Wikipedia articles on I-P would instantly become around 4 times better. We'd hardly need to block anyone (other than editors we know have really serious problems). PRtalk 12:31, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Please! Don't mention the letters "EE". I'm still trying to forget. LMAO. Gatoclass (talk) 12:36, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Question about DYK

I notice that you are doing many reviews of proposed DYKs. I came across an article tonight from which I think an interesting DYK can be parsed; however, the inline cites come from a book rather than a website. Is this a barrier to DYK nomination? Thanks. Risker (talk) 06:08, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

next DYK group

I agree that there isn't much to do about too many U.S. articles. I did notice that some updaters have been promoting groups with zero U.S. articles which is the cause of the current problem. Since we are over a day ahead of schedule, I think we should short the next group. I think that it should run without the article that you added and save it for the next group. I was taking my time to promote this group. I did notice it was already late. I'm getting sleepy since it's almost midnight here, so I think I'll let this group wait some more for someone else to promote. I would be willing to promote it if you want to do the crediting. I love that article about the Norwegian Anne Frank! Royalbroil 05:42, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I'll promote the group (without your latest addition which you should add after you clear the group). You need to credit the articles and authors/nominators, and I'll do the rest. Thanks! Royalbroil 05:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

RfA thank-spam

Gatoclass/Archive 3 (Jan-Mar 2008), I wish to tender my sincere thanks for your support in my successful request for adminship, which ended with 37 supports, 2 opposes, and 2 neutral. The results of the RfA are extremely bittersweet because of the recent departure of my nominator, Rudget. Hopefully I can live up to his and your expectations. I would especially like to thank Epbr123 and TomStar81 for mentioning that they were preparing to offer me a nomination. The past week has been one of the most stressful weeks in my life, and I appreciate your vote of confidence in me. If you ever need anything, just get in touch. -MBK004 21:12, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

use of newer DANFS template

Hi Gatoclass -- I was just browsing new articles and notice your USS Noble (APA-218) article, based on DANFS material. I've had limited involvement with DANFS and wikiproject Ships, but i understand there is a new version of DANFS template that allows you to include a link to the specific DANFS article you are sourcing from, in a new article. See Template_talk:DANFS#Link_parameter_added. It seems it would be easy and helpful to others later, if you could use that, up front. sincerely, doncram (talk) 18:21, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

hi

re Georgia Tech's College of Computing hook. I was surprised that you approved the articles without comment. Do you think the hook can be correct? or is it that it is said somewhere and that is enough? Victuallers (talk) 20:52, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi Gato,

I replied on the DYK page to your concerns raised. Here's the reference to the claim: here. See page 143, second paragraph from top of page. I also proposed an ALT. Let me know what you think. Lazulilasher (talk) 16:33, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, see I was concerned because most think of Pont Neuf as the oldest, when in fact, Pont Neuf is the oldest INTACT bridge.....so.....I thought I would create an uncontroversial nom. However, now that you point it out, I think just saying that the Pont Notre-Dame is the oldest bridge in Paris is best. See the Alt. Anyway, I do think it's a pretty interesting point. Lazulilasher (talk) 16:40, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
I also clarified the actual article, per your recommendation. It is now quoted directly from source, so there should be no verifiability problems. Lazulilasher (talk) 16:59, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
I just went ahead and added an ALT which is basically your well put statement. I was having difficulty clarifying exactly what I was trying to say, so I appreciate your suggestion. Lazulilasher (talk) 17:05, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Donna Eden quotes

I have a question. I changed "energy medicine" on Donna Eden's page to Energy medicine (i.e., with wiki link) and you reverted that to "energy medicine". What's your rationale? As used on that page, my interpretation of the quoted version (i.e., "energy medicine") is to make it sound more questionable, as in, 'Bob liked to call himself an "athlete" even though all he did was lift beers'. I figure you have a good reason, because obviously you think carefully about your contributions. Thanks for that, by the way.--Mbilitatu (talk) 04:29, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Question on DYK feedback

You did the review for Environment of Florida, and noted that a photograph would be a good addition to the nomination for the "featured" DYK. My concern is that, although most of the photos in the article are quite nice (I took a good deal of time to select them), none of them relate to the hook (none of them are fish). Should I come up with a different hook (with the photos in mind), or should I find a fish picture to add?

I found one photo of an exotic, taken in Florida at Image:Channa marulius.jpg, but it's not a particularly attractive photo. Most of the exotics (of the ones that have pictures) are pictures from public aquaria in Europe, or home aquaria. I'm not too keen about including them, but I'll go along with any recommendation you have. Horologium (talk) 23:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Please do what you can to make sure that it is accepted. I've worked very hard to meet the concerns of other editors. The article has a picture and over 40,000 bytes of sourced material. It would be a shame if a technicality raised at the last hour resulted in its not being featured. Thanks. Tiamuttalk 09:02, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Gatoclass. I appreciate your quick response. Tiamuttalk 09:15, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Harry Lee (USMC), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.hazegray.org/danfs/auxil/ap17.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 07:05, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Harry Lee (USMC)

A tag has been placed on Harry Lee (USMC) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 07:07, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

No problem. You might want to rewrite it just a bit so someone else won't do the same thing, even with a public-domain notice there. Sometimes we humans act like bots, too. :-) - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 14:22, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Shared resources/library

Hi! A few weeks ago you made a suggestion at WP:VPP about having some way to share information from books/ request info from other users. As someone mentioned, there's WP:LIBRARY, but that does not seem an easy way to manage large numbers of books. I've recently had an idea about categorising user subpage library lists, and have presented it at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Shared resources/library. I'm interested in your thoughts on the idea, since it was your question which inspired it. Thanks! Gwinva (talk) 07:41, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Toolson

As long as you promoted one of them (though not the one I would have picked), I'm OK. But I still can't see how you missed cites that were at the end of the sentences with the hook facts. Cites that had been in the article since I first added the information they supported. Cites that are of reliable sources: Bowie Kuhn's own memoirs, the decision text and other Supreme Court opinions.

And how are those difficult to confirm, as your message on my page seemed to imply? I provided a link to Kuhn's memoir page at Google Books ... was that not coming up? Supreme Court decisions are often available several different places online since they're PD and are usually marked as to the page in the Supreme Court Reports.

Could you at least explain how you came to the conclusion that I had left no inline cites?

Sorry for my outburst, but it was not the way I wanted to start the day. Not with someone wagging a finger at me saying I didn't do something I had done several days ago. Daniel Case (talk) 19:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

The page number is in both cites ... {{cite book}} wedges it in between the publisher and the ISBN. Clicking the link in both cases would have taken you right to the page. I assumed that anyone checking the sources would have clicked that link ... I do when I check sources.

The third one is to the Supreme Court decision ... the "XXX U.S. XXX" is the commmon case citation format for the Supreme Court Reports. Since they're PD, they're usually reprinted all over the Internet, and in SCOTUS case articles we usually don't link to any version, not the Findlaw or Justia version (in some cases they're even at wikisource), at least not from each individual footnote. Daniel Case (talk) 07:14, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately lately with Google books I find myself unable to get more than one page at a time, at least when it's a search result. As for the Supreme Court thing, yes I know it's not obvious to everyone but it's the convention used in WP:SCOTUS. If you'd posted specific issues you were having I would have explained them then (and in my followup, the one you moved, I did have a link to the decision text). DYK Expired Noms, 29 February

Hi. I saw your comment on Garin lo Brun dated 5 March and responded by expanding it the same day. Also on 5 March I added (a little late in the day, but I thought in time) a new nomination of an article I created on 29 February, William Wentworth, 2nd Earl of Strafford (1722-1791)‎, but I see all of 29 February has now been marked as Expired. Begin/terrorist

I once argued, to no effect, that at least the Stern (Lehi)gang fitted the Wiki rules because it described itself as engaged in terrorist actions, but couldn't get past Amoruso. I haven't checked those rules, but I still wonder why, peculiar to Wiki, one cannot write the word 'terrorism' when that was the strategy, as it has been with many Palestinian groups (where efforts to make it stick have been vigorous and in some cases successful). In Begin and Shamir's case, a good many Israeli and Jewish experts of quality, (not leftwing antui-Zionist partisans) on the history of the period readily describe the Irgun as a 'terrorist organization'. It is not really objected to in mainstream scholarship. Cf.

'Mr Begin, was, of course, head of a terrorist organization; so was Sean MacBride, who subsequently received both the Lenin and the Nobel Peace prizes, and a great many other people now highly respected.’ Walter Laqueur The Political Psychology of Appeasement:Finlandization and Other Unpopular Essays, Transaction Books, New Brunswick and London, 1980 p.264

Still, what academic literature accepts, is, I suppose not quite what Wiki accepts in these instances. I never push the point myself, except to remonstrate by counter-example when the other side, doing what Stern and Irgun did, is somehow branded as ontologically terroristic. Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships

Thank you for informing me of this particular system. How is one to know what parts of the article is from the Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships? Question

Hi Gatoclass, I noticed you revert vandalism occasionally. Would you like me to grant your account rollback rights to help make vandal-reverting easier for you? Acalamari 18:00, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Rollback granted. :) Yes, due to a feature implemented about two months ago, administrators can now grant admin-rollback to non-admins. Just remember it's for reverting vandalism/spam, and not for use in revert-wars or for reverting good-faith edits. You may also wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback for additional information and practice. Good luck. Acalamari 18:06, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
You're welcome, and good night. :) Acalamari 18:13, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Second Intifada

I fully agree with your comments at the RfC there. My question is, what do we do when entrenched partisans canvassed to join a debate refuse to acknowledge what the vast majority of sources say? You have witnessed and participated in the discussion over the last three months. If we cannot achieve consensus, what options do we have to ensure that the text reflects the sources? I don't want to end up with an edit-war. It is however, unacceptable for "wave of violence" to replace "uprising" in the lead. Letting it stand as such for three months was frankly far too generous. What are your recommendations for how to break this impasse? Thanks. Tiamuttalk 13:05, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

re Mockery

I think your proposal to go to, is it, AE? as mentioned on the Noticeboard, more than proper. I have always had a deep reluctance to make official complaints, especially with User:Jaakobou, despite many deep differences of opinion over edits, but by the looks of it, Jaakabou is simply unaware of the gravity of that offence. I'm old fashioned. Blokes can take things on the chin, but men must not bully women with impunity, and indeed, refuse to withdraw their aggression until the aggrieved party complains. The innuendo in that is monstrous, and has, for me, tipped the scales. Some nuances may escape the outside observer, but if you do register a complaint, I will add a note detailing why that image is deeply offensive in context. Regards as usual Nishidani (talk) 19:34, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, that's over expeditiously, though I am troubled by his tutor's inability to understand the thuggish allusion in Jaakobou's insider allusion. Don't want to drag this on, or drag you in to anything. Just posted on my own talk page a reflection. Regards Nishidani (talk) 21:14, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Jaakobou

A few comments regarding today's events. It isn't easy to mentor someone post-arbitration who has gotten deeply embroiled in an ethnic dispute. If it looks like I waltz up, blindly praise him, and depart--well that's not exactly the case. Jaakobou and I have spent a substantial portion of the last twelve hours in extended chats. I've set aside other work to focus on this. It's not a situation I take lightly, or one that anybody wants to see repeated.

Jaakobou did something thoughtless; not maliciously, but it was a you just don't go there gaffe and he was slow to realize its seriousness. Perhaps because Jaakobou wasn't comprehending, or because the context was ambiguous, another editor interpreted the picture and caption in an entirely different light than the one intended. So when it came to my attention (facepalm) the thing had been simmering for days and was in the process of boiling over. Jaakobou and I had been so pleased to see his featured nominations pass. Now this...

So I advised him to take out the dig at another editor and apologize immediately. He did to the best of his ability at that time (he gets it better now that we've discussed this at greater length). And as soon as he took his first steps in the right direction he got hit with a block warning and two noticeboard threads. If the warning and threads had come before he started trying to make amends, then I wouldn't have objected at all. With that timing, though? Really drags a guy down and slows down the process of setting things right.

That's most of the major points in a nutshell. If there's something I can answer for you, please ask. Best regards, DurovaCharge! 12:59, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm concerned about the reliability of 20/20 as the principal source for this article. I'm tempted to pull the article from DYK pending further examination of the sources, what do you think? Espresso Addict (talk) 15:17, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

The Independent newspaper is reliable, but I don't think the Indy magazine supplements are necessarily so. Speaking with my medical hat on, it seems to me the kind of article that gives Wikipedia a bad name, but I might just be being oversensitive. Espresso Addict (talk) 15:42, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

No! I wouldnt load the extra aggy hook on a set you had mostly put together, it was a suggestion only. I'm happy to go with adding it to the next load as you suggest. I meant load the new set of dyks... but I see its done Victuallers (talk) 15:51, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

It happened to me too in last few days and its annoying. Suggest we/you raise this on wikipedia talk. Making you an admin wouldn't help cos we shouldnt be tweaking things on the main page. We only need to do that when we've $%^&ed up. We need a flag on the page that says "still fiddling please wait" that is good say for 10 minutes of fiddling (even if it is red!). Or maybe simpler ... do not load the page (unless requested or agreed) unless it has been free of edits for 10 minutes. Anyway ... commiserations. Victuallers (talk) 16:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations

Hi Gatoclass, I must say I am quite admirative of your courage in standing for User:DreamGuy on the Administrator notice board. Your arguments make a lot of sense. Although I am fairly confident with English, I am not a native speaker, and I am quite envious of your ability to put out a strong, detailed, argument. I myself feel I have been relentlessly attacked for unfair reasons by some of the same people who are attacking DreamGuy, and I tend to sympathize with his case, although I don't known many of the details yet. Congratulations again, and best regards. PHG (talk) 12:45, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

The Epic Barnstar
Awarded to Gatoclass for his superlative ability to make a case and courageously defend other users in the face of strong opposition, by PHG, March 24, 2008.

You're welcome. I happen to have quite an interest in ships as well. I unstubbed and brought to FA status the Imperial Japanese Navy article. Your comments are welcome! PHG (talk) 13:16, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

DYK next update

Is there anything that I can do to help select the next group? I should be online, so buzz me when the group is ready to promote. Royalbroil 03:03, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

The hook "...that U.S. Route 12 was extended into Washington in 1967, taking over most of the routing of U.S. Route 410?" meets the DYK criteria. Royalbroil 03:33, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

DYK Jifna

I changed the dyk hook for Jifna on the talk page. Its a just a little less interesting than the previous, but its backed by a reliable source and is certainly note-worthy. --Al Ameer son (talk) 21:00, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes but I can only do the load as very busy in real life

  • I was away from the computer for a while, so I missed the update, but did all the notifications. Thanks for asking, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:05, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
    • It was done at 12:24, March 27, 2008. The update shows up on my computer, but I just purged the Main Page cache, which should make it show up on everyone's. This is the scissors lift picture set of hooks - right? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:14, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
      • I assume purging the Main Page cache did the trick. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:15, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
        • I do not know where to look to see when the cache was purged - not sure it is even recorded as it is not technically an edit. I certainly have forgotten to purge the cache right away a time or two, so perhaps that happened here too. Just glad it is working now. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:18, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
          • I was glad to help - thanks for all of your work on DYK and WP in general. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:29, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Er, sorry, literally just going to bed four hours later than planned, and need to be up very early in the morning. Espresso Addict (talk) 03:52, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Ned Kelly - not known outside Oz?

Wasn't it Mick Jagger who played him in the Hollywood film? :-) Victuallers (talk) 16:11, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

WP:ERROR

What precisely is the notice that comes up when you try to edit the page? Are you sure it isn't a database lockdown? I am trying to find out why this is happening. Regards. Woody (talk) 08:30, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

No problem, I am glad we have a reason for it! Woody (talk) 09:10, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
