WikiProject Plant Evo Devo[edit]

Greetings! I noticed you created Wikipedia:WikiProject Plant Evo Devo. Quite ambitious! You may want to read up on the guide to WikiProjects at WP:PROJGUIDE. It might offer some insight. Have you identified many other Wikipedians that might be interested in such a project? I worry it might overlap with the existing WP:PLANTS too much, though. Instead, you might endeavour to start up an evo/devo taskforce within WP:PLANTS. Check out the guide and post a thread at WT:PLANTS for other opinions, though, and also to see how many people would be interested. Cheers, --Rkitko (talk) 20:17, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I think thats a good idea. what i'll do is put up things that I have in mind on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Plant Evo Devo page and then jump in the plants discussion so that we can better address the issue...Thanks for the suggestion...!

Happy to help. Let me know if I can answer any questions or help point you toward other pages and/or people that can assist. Cheers, --Rkitko (talk) 20:53, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rkitko...have sorted out a list of topics to be included in Wikipedia:WikiProject Plant Evo Devo. So there are actually 2 jobs one could do...generate development entries (i guess molecular pathways r not extensively convered in wiki) and specific evo-devo entries. there could be task segregation in these aspects, but right now, the subproject is just me. So, as of now, I will be focussing on molecular aspects, and generating entries as I move ahead...any ideas on that one? A Plant evo devo entry has been created..have a look...! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gauravm1312 (talkcontribs) 20:26, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again! Good job getting that list together. I'm actually not too familiar with evo devo, so I'm not sure how much help I'll be, but I can sure try. Generating articles is always welcomed and it's nice to see you off to such a great start. Let me point you to the naming convention guidelines for articles, though. Plant evo devo doesn't seem to be the best fit. What is it you're trying to describe in the article (what's the scope?) -- is it the actual topic of plant evolution and development or is it the discipline within botany that is plant evolution and development (either way, I think spelling it out is important)?
As for the WikiProject, I thought EncycloPetey was also signed up? Regardless, continue on. Also consider asking around for participants at WikiProject Molecular and Cellular Biology. You might find a few more interested parties. Keep me updated. I'll certainly join on to the project, but I can't offer much assistance in creating articles. I'd be able to peer-review and maintain project functions such as assessment, etc. I engineered the current layout for WP:PLANTS so we could discuss how to bring the project together so resources are easy to find. Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Floralgenomeproject.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Fgp.JPG. This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 00:31, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plant evolutionary developmental biology[edit]

Hello Guravm1312. I only made formatting and minor editing changes to the article, so I don't think there should be any issue. Were there any specific changes you were concerned about? David Sher (talk) 21:32, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
