Evolution page

From Evolution page

Life on Earth originated and then evolved from a universal common ancestor approximately 3.7 billion years ago.

Ipse dixit claim.

Life on Earth is hypothesized to have originated and then evolved from a universal common ancestor approximately 3.7 billion years ago.

Please make this scientific correction.

Thank you.

I was going to ask why you, an established editor, wanted me to make the change for you. Then I looked at your talk page history and I realised that you're trying to break 3RR by proxy (me). I'm contemplating blocking you. GedUK  11:58, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Assistance with Ken Sibanda page

Hi, you recently unprotected the Ken Sibanda page, thank you! They is a user going under Alft80 who is upset and has started a deletion log under that name - a violation of wikipedia policy, using alternative accounts. As a supervisor please intervene. I suspect and my six sense tells me from the language use, that Alft80 is actually the salting editor --- Flatturnetter, unhappy that the page has finally been unprotected. How is deletion under a fictitious name not harassment! Thanks M. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mziboy (talkcontribs) 15:28, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

That's a very serious charge, Mziboy, and I deny it categorically - as, I would assume, does Altfish80 (talk · contribs) (who certainly appears to be someone with an agenda, but is not me). Please retract your accusations against me. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 16:05, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
He's perfectly entitled to start the AfD if he has valid concerns about the article, which judging by the AfD at this point certainly seem valid. If it's a spurious AfD it'll get picked up at AfD pretty quickly.
Throwing around allegations, especially against established administrators is not the way to solve the dispute. Nor is removing the AfD tag, not least becaause the discussion carries on regardless of the tag. But you know that now I'm sure considering you've been blocked for it. Jennifer Margulis page deletion

Hi Ged,

Yes, please do restore it to my userspace. I will try to address the comments. Ideally I would like others to edit it as well, as I don't feel like an article is quite complete until there's been some collaboration. Can others edit it on my userspace? And is there a way one normally recruits participants for that, or do I need to find some volunteers? Or should I just do my best, then put it back up and hope others will take a crack at it once it's back up?

Thanks, MrOrigamiPants (talk) 18:35, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi there, I've restored it to User:MrOrigamiPants/Jennifer Margulis. Yes, other people can edit that page, it's a normal wikipedia page, just not in the main section (like your user page/user talk). As for recruiting, you could try a wikiproject (Wikipedia:Portal/Directory for a list) or perhaps engage with some of the people who contributed to the AfD. GedUK  11:56, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

K. Michelle neutral notification

Since you've edited K. Michelle's article, do you have any opinion about the sources used for some of the material that's in there? I asked about them at Talk:K._Michelle#Problem_with_sources. Maybe you could weigh in on the discussion?— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 02:28, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

I haven't really edited the article, I just closed the AfD discussion. GedUK  11:59, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Peter Schiff Page Protection

The protection on the Peter Schiff page is about to expire. Despite much work I have done to further consensus during the period of the protection, the other parties do not appear to be responding in a timely manner. Please advise, what is to be done in such circumstances? I would hate to ask for an extension of the protection only to risk repeating this scenario in two weeks or more. Thank you.24.151.25.89 (talk) 18:04, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

I'd say let the protection expire and see if the consensus materialises on the page. If it doesn't then reapply for full protection, or let me know (RFPP is probably quicker). GedUK  12:14, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
