X Factor contestants - deletions
Hi! I saw that you added Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Janet_Devlin_(singer) to "list of Bands and musicians-related deletion discussions." You may want to also add Talk:Misha_Bryan_(singer). There appears to be a couple of editors who are hellbent on deleting any individual articles of X Factor contestants with no basis in current Wikipedia notability guidelines (and then these editors redirect names back to X Factor pages). The results of these discussions would either improve of notability guidelines or provide precedent in letting the current guidelines stand.-- NewzealanderA (talk) 15:46, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- Misha Brian (singer) didn't go to AfD. It was speedily deleted and salted by an admin. If the other singer articles come to AfD I or another editor will list it on deletion sorting. • Gene93k (talk) 18:01, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks!-- NewzealanderA (talk) 18:46, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Lord Huron
hi i saw you commented on the deleting of the article on this artist. i wrote a comment on the talk page [1] saying why i think it should exist with some sources. can i make the article?Happy monsoon day 16:15, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- That talk page you pointed to has been deleted, but I have looked at the article in your user space. I did not vote in the AfD, but, as I see it, Lord Huron still fails the WP:Notability (music) guideline. The band needs more substantial coverage by reliable sources. The LA Times and NPR references are a good start, but they don't go deep enough. • Gene93k (talk) 18:01, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- i tell you man thats a real fracking pain because this guy is a rocker. two more questions one of them hypothetical: where can i go in future when ive got some sources and i want to know whether the band article will fly? secondly, this is hypotheticla, but say i know this friend who wants to create some band articles on some awesome bands, and the sources are u know a bit 馬馬虎虎 (mamahuhu) [2][3][4]as the chinese would say, can he just create them and pray [this guy is a serious christian fanatic i tells ya] for the best? ie that no smart alec with a sysop icepick is going to sneak up behind him and knock him one in the spine [ie delete the article?]? how easy is it to get this stuff under the radar [my friend insisted i ask this]?Happy monsoon day 01:13, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
In regards to your request to delete the page: Dudley O'Shaughnessy
Hello Gene93k In regards to your request to delete the page: Dudley O'Shaughnessy Note: This debate has been included in the list of Fashion-related deletion discussions. • Gene93k (talk) 01:22, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Note: This debate has been included in the list of People-related deletion discussions. • Gene93k (talk) 01:23, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
The article is a stub of which I've been working on about the model Dudley O'Shaughnessy.
I think an article is of the person is needed on wikipedia. I wanted to give a description of the persons activities as an upcoming model listed on the Next model management website in the talent section and as a former boxer with articles written by the BBC and other reliable websites. I have added more information and many more sources and have tried to make it as accurate as possible.
I do however understand that a previous article was created last year (not by me), having read parts of it I do not see many similarities between the two. The references I have given are a lot stronger and the information although not lengthy is fairly accurate.
I'm asking that you review the article again and rethink your proposal for deletion.
Thank you Regards UgoUgochinyerem (talk) 04:28, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- BenTels (talk · contribs) nominated Dudley O'Shaughnessy for deletion, I didn't. Adding the deletion debate to the list of deletions notifies other editors that the debate is open. It neither supports nor opposes deletion. Finally, any arguments for keeping the article are best made at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dudley O'Shaughnessy (2nd nomination), not here. • Gene93k (talk) 23:56, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Guidance is requested on the type of citations requested to satisfy Wikipedia requirements. The most recent citation is in Science Careers (see below).

- Sciencemag.org appears to be a reliable, independent source, but it has only one paragraph of coverage. A Wikipedia article needs in-depth coverage by multiple reliable sources. The general notability guideline gives be best guidance for this issue. • Gene93k (talk) 00:15, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, additional citations added. One paragraph in Science is very influential. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glaurie (talk • contribs) 11:18, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps a lack of BEFORE and a disgust at a poorly written contribution led to the AFD. As the article Andala rakshasi has been improved somewhat,[5] might you care to revist the discussion? Thanks, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 20:58, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Iain Martell Afd
Because you participated in a previous deletion discussion about this subject, I'm notifying you that I've opened Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iain Martell (3rd nomination). Mark Arsten (talk) 22:53, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
Tiffany Tyler article
Hi, I've seen that you have tagged the article written by me with doubt about notability. Please help me to understand. This actress is mentioned in Internet Movie Database, Internet Adult Film Database, Adult Film database. She's been nominated for AVN awards I've provided a lot of sources for her activity. Obviously are sources compatible with her work, like adult's magazine and adult's website. There are in Wikipedia many actresses (example Dani Jensen article or Tiffany Hopkins article)with fewer references than mine but the're not tagged about notability. I don't understand why my article has been tagged in this way. I'll appreciate very much if you let me know why this difference among my article and the others that I've reported as example.
Thank you very much
Unvisigoth (talk) 18:48, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia's guidelines for reliable sources and the notability of pornographic actors (WP:PORNBIO). None of the sources cited in the Tiffany Tyler article are reliable. The AVN.com article appears to be a press release and doesn't count. Please also note that editors have tightened the WP:PORNBIO standard so that scene-related awards and nominations don't count toward notability. The Dani Jensen article doesn't meet the new PORNBIO standard either. Editors will get around to it in due time. Tiffany Hopkins narrowly passes PORNBIO with nominations in multiple years (AVN and FICEB). I tagged the article because a single scene-related AVN nomination is not enough. • Gene93k (talk) 19:30, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Doing your job?
Hi, I saw you placing many of the AfD debates under a certain list or category so I thought I should ask you something about that since are probably familiar with the process. So is it alright to do that right after I have created an AfD discussion?. Bleubeatle (talk) 23:01, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- It's not a formal job. It is deletion sorting. It's optional for the nominator to add the debate to relevant deletion sorting lists, alerting interested editors. If they don't editors like me will come along and sort them. • Gene93k (talk) 02:04, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi again. Sorry if I bothered you. I was just interested in using it on future AfDs. Thanks for responding though. Keep up the good work! :-) Bleubeatle (talk) 02:09, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Haystak
Haystak Digital Marketing owns the trademark for the word "Haystak" please remove the information you have edited immediately. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by TonySoares (talk • contribs) 13:27, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) According to the USPTO, the company doesn't own the trademark to the word Haystak, even within their industry, so perhaps you should check on that. Aside from that small issue, an article's title on Wikipedia is determined by following the policy viewable at WP:COMMONNAME as opposed to by comparing trademarks or official names. Since the copyright situation has been straightened out via OTRS, you may view the article at Haystak Digital Marketing. VernoWhitney (talk) 19:09, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks on Middletown State Homeopathic Hospital
I'm in a dirty fight with some other editors and feeling down, so I checked on the first page that I created Middletown State Homeopathic Hospital, and saw that you added some tags and other stuff to improve the page. I just wanted to say Thank you for it. It wasn't big, someone with your experience must have done it quick. But still. Thank You. AbstractIllusions (talk) 01:07, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

Deletions sortings listings for politicians
Hello, can you please check when listing politicians AFDs at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Deletion_sorting/Politicians that they are not already there. Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Paul_Lorber_(2nd_nomination) is now listed as the first and third entry in that list and obviously there is no need for such duplication and from memory this is possibly the third time you've duplicated it. Thanks, Valenciano (talk) 05:05, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

New script?
Hi, whatever new script or process you're using that allows you to put multiple AfDs into one DELSORT list, it has lost wikilinking the individual AfD's (or their corresponding articles) in the edit summary. Is there any possibility of regaining that functionality? I really prefer being able to jump to the discussions straight from my watchlist, without having to open the individual DELSORT lists unless I've been off-wiki for a while. Coordinates
Hi there! Can I use the coordinates of a town as the coordinates of an institution in that town? For example, can I use the coordinates of Isfana as the coordinates of a high-school there? Nataev (talk) 21:20, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- I enlarged this image and found the building. Is it possible to get the exact coordinates? Nataev (talk) 08:46, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
