Repost of Gary Forrester[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Gary Forrester, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Gary Forrester was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Gary Forrester, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. line spacing[edit]

Lots of articles are like that - it's the superscript for footnotes. that's the standard style - it can be fixed with CSS for individual readers, but that's just how stuff works - not really an easy way to change it in the article code.—Random832 23:44, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:[edit]

Well - it's ok, though it's better to keep to the talk page (you can still list potential sources for others to use). It's good that you disclosed it to avoid any appearance of deception.—Random832 23:11, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doing formatting stuff is fine. It's not even absolutely prohibited to edit content, just make sure you're aware of any bias you have and try to keep it out of the article.—Random832 23:19, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Revisions[edit]

Looks great. Good job. I tweaked it a tiny bit. Better photo?--Samuel.harding 19:19, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The concern with the photograph is that it currently lacks any information on its source and copyright status. If you take a look at the image use policy it goes into detail about what is needed when you upload an image to Wikipedia. If you're unsure which copyright tag to use on the image, you may want to ask for help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions where editors familiar with copyright and Wikipedia policies may be able to help sort it out. Let me know if there's anything more I can do to help. Shell babelfish 21:59, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for figuring out the copyright tag -- I was trying to find information on how the picture had been released before but wasn't having any luck. I moved the copyright information to the description page of the image (Image:Bluegrass in New Orleans, Pre-Katrina.jpg) -- clicking on any image will take you to its description page where the source and copyright information should be listed. Moving pages[edit]

Wikipedia style for bio articles is first name, last name. Please see WP:MOS. Thanks. --Bradeos Graphon (talk) 23:56, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks, but I already did! Cheers, --Bradeos Graphon (talk) 23:59, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not copy and paste material as you did from here as it violates their copyright. Please review Wikipedia:Copyrights. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 00:46, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you work on it on your own computer and then when it's ready paste it to Wikipedia? CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 01:55, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just use the link above it's identical to what I deleted. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 06:29, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Hutt Valley Fencing Club[edit]

A tag has been placed on Hutt Valley Fencing Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Sting au Buzz Me... 04:21, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re Hutt Valley Fencing Club[edit]

G'day Georgette. Yes I was sure about placing the speedy delete tag on that article and I see it has been deleted (not by me) in the mean time. Before creating articles you need to have your references ready so as notability can be established by anyone who checks the article at new page patrol. You mentioned that you were hoping to work with some others on the history of the club? Might pay to collaborate with those people before trying to recreate this article. Cheers, Sting au Buzz Me... 11:26, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gary Forrester[edit]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Gary Forrester, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
