WoT redirects

[edit]

Please stop blanking the WoT redirects. Blanking of pages can be considered vandalism, and is never the proper way to handle bad content. I have reveted the ones you have blanked so far. There is a proper way to handle bad redirects, in particular. Wikipedia:Redirects for deletion Check this page out, and go crazy listing the WoT redirects there if you truely beleive them bad. But please do not simply blank them. TexasAndroid 19:20, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

skeptical

[edit]

i'm not sure why you commented, since the redirect you gave me only reinforces my particular spelling choice. perhaps you just wanted to chide someone?

in response to your comment, it states in the manual of style that the national style of the author should be chosen, and that this style should be consistent throughout the document. 'sceptical' is a less common American spelling than 'skeptical', hence my edit. In any case, considering the number of edits you could be commenting on, i hardly think this is one you should be spending time arguing over.

Please add more {{fact}}s if {{unsourced}} is needed. --Gherald 01:04, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As per WP:V, WP:CITE, and WP:NOR, everything on wikipedia is supposed to have a source, and this article cites none. The Jungian archetype stuff looks a lot like original research to me. It needs to be cleaned up. --Samael775 03:07, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The article does cite sources for information that is outside the books, using a number of inline external links. There are currently two {{fact}} flags, and I was unable to find a need for any others. Note that Archetype#Jungian_archetypes does not have citations for the examples presented. Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no reason why this article needs citations in order to document the various characters' fulfillment of archetypes. --Gherald 04:23, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
According to WP:V, "One of the keys to writing good encyclopedia articles is to understand that they must refer only to facts, assertions, theories, ideas, claims, opinions, and arguments that have already been published by reputable publishers. The goal of Wikipedia is to become a complete and reliable encyclopedia. Editors should cite reliable sources so that their edits may be verified by readers and other editors." Also note that original research should be deleted, not marked with {{fact}}. Please find sources for this information, or delete it. --Samael775 15:46, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wiki templates

[edit]

Sorry for the delay of response. Anyway, as pointed out on the talk page of Template:Gentoowiki, there have been several deletion discussions that bore out the idea that only "MediaWiki" sister projects and significant wikis/databases (such as IMDB) should have in-page links.

Also see Category:External link templates for a summary of standards for external links in-article (with language that has stood since February). I've added it to Category:Wikia templates, by the way. However, it looks like we may be able to use something like Template:Wikia on the page itself, if I understand its usage correctly. But see also point #3 here.

I'd like to look at the possibility of dragging most of the "minor characters" articles (everything below, say, Lan Mandragoran in importance) over to WoTwiki and consolidate our articles here into lists. There's no reason for so much detail on this project, and it leads to cruft and duplication of effort. It would benefit WoT Wiki, too, to get more articles started. What say you? -- nae'blis 18:34, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

For fixing the link I knew it looked bad but I didn't know how to fix it. Jamhaw 20:31, 13 September 2006 (UTC)jamhaw[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
