Welcome to my talk page. If you would like to leave me a message i will be very happy, as i don't get many messages. I don't archive, i think it’s pointless, i just delete, so if we were having a discussion a year ago, it probably won't be here.

In case you were wondering…

Concerning "the downfall of civilized culture and destroy wikipedia as we know it," this is not the reason. The reason can be found in these pages.

Re: Wiimote

[edit]

I am for mentioning the term Wiimote in the Wii article. Sorry to confuse you. I'm guessing you were confused by those links that I listed above. Did I guess correctly? I'm sorry for not explaining what I was trying to say very well. I thought you might be interested in those links to see why some views wouldn't want to mention "Wiimote" in the Wii article. I didn't make the edits of the three links listed above. If you check those links again you will see that I did not make those edits. I only listed those links to show you the reasoning that the opposition uses for not including "Wiimote" in the article. I am for mentioning "Wiimote" in the Wii article. If you look at those links again you will see. I did not make those edits. Jecowa 08:57, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh if you mean this edit, I was only telling that guy that "Wiimote" isn't the official name for English-speaking countries. That doesn't mean that I think it shouldn't be included. Jecowa 15:28, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Wildwood Christian School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Wildwood Christian School. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Re: History of video game consoles (eighth generation)

[edit]

You'll never know unless you try. The article might be deleted for speculation, but the fact that there will be eighth gen consoles is not speculative. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo fave already mentioned them a little. Of course Apple is secretive. The History of video game consoles (eighth generation) article has been deleted before, the last time being two months ago, but your version is much better than the previous ones. You have a lot of sources; that should make it less likely for people to AfD it. I would go ahead and try it. Jecowa 02:33, 13 December 2006 (UTC) P.S. TouchLight looks fine to me. I think the only thing else it needs is some categories to go in.[reply]

I just noticed that PlayStation 4 was deleted six days ago and Xbox 720 was deleted thirteen days ago, but things that aren't worthy of their own article can often be grouped into a list that is acceptable. There is an article about bids that cities are considering making a few years down the road. Jecowa 03:57, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"the 256-bit era is said to be including the playstation 3, xbox 2 and the next nintendo system dubbed nintendo 5 by gamers."
jecowa, this is what the seventh gen article looked like when it first went up and it was allowed to stay. could you put it under the discussion for whether we should keep or remove the eighth gen. article?J.L.Main 11:00, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for such a reasoned and balanced response! I am glad that you have decided to continue with the project. Wikipedia needs hard-working editors like yourself! Regards, (aeropagitica) 05:44, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

i thought you would like to know that someone has re-created the article. i would recommend that it be marked for speedy deletion and then protected. please don't get me wrong, i do think the article should exist, but i don't think it should be re0created until something is known. J.L.Main 17:20, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not according to the history on History of video game consoles (eighth generation). Can you give me a link to follow, please? (aeropagitica) 17:47, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

8th gen consoles

[edit]

In reply to your argumentative message on my user page: I did read your article. I still consider it to be crystal balling, as apparently do many others who voted in the AfD. While I appreciate the work you put into this article, it is simply too early and too speculative at this point. By the way, you would probably be treated much better if you didn't have this penchant for arguing with those who disagree in the AfD debate. You're hurting your own cause. 8th Gen of Gaming Consoles

[edit]

I just thought i'd query something with you. I noticed you posted on someone's user page (specifically the admin who dealt with the recent 3rd nomination of the article in question), that you state "i was wondering if we could discuses when the article could be reposted for another run. i was thinking like 6 months....and i think both of us would need to agree that the article is ready before it goes back up." This is more of a general note as I am just slightly concerned, given that because of the nature of the project (that being Wikipedia itself), decisions such as the one you mentioned above should and would normally be community discussed, with any changes made since the last nomination put forward. Don't get me wrong, I know you have put substantial effort into it and I am merely querying whether you would be prepared to involve yourself in such a discussion when the time approaches? Given that the article is "protected", it obviously means that points would need putting forward for it's recreation, and I feel you are illusioned in thinking that you are solely responsible for doing that, which of course isn't the case. I just want to ensure you realise the imporance of community discussion and decisions within the project, particularly when dealing with a subject as specific as the one we're talking about. Bungle44 16:35, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bungle, I'm just a random guy on the internet, but you sound like an ass, and one that can't speak english very well.

BTW, when is the 8th gen article coming out? It blows my mind wikipedia would rather people went looking for the information elsewhere than provide it if it is ready. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.194.101.164 (talk) 17:20, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings,

Thou shouldst use proper English and capitalize in every sentence's beginning. Just like this. Also, I would like to ask how you get the user box pics down to the right size. You know, the user boxes like the one that say you like Star Trek Enterprise. How can you anyway? It contradicts the original series!

How about handhelds?

[edit]

Nintendo seems to and will always be king of handheld gaming, however, they seem to release a lot of devices. From past records, they release a new device approximately every 1.5-2 years. They are also all backward compatible. They are also known to produce an "improved one" after the first one, EX Game Boy Advance---> Game Boy Advance SP, Nintendo DS---> Nintendo DS Lite, i don't know about game boy color series but there's also many version released from 1989-2002. When do you think they might release a successor to the DS Lite?

Playstation death?

[edit]

Assuming the Playstation system is going to be wiped off the map simple because Apple releases a system is kind of hog-wash, if everyone had assumed Nintendo would make another dud when they released the Wii (like the Gamecube) then Nintendo would be dead right now- it is silly to assume that the Playstation 4 is going to die simply because the Playstation 3 isn't selling as well as the Xbox 360 or Wii, its an entirely different generation and you never know Sony might pick up that brain-wave device and incorporate it into their 9th generation console which would be of major hype effect [its unlikely that Nintendo will do it due to the cost, Nintendo is not known for making pricey systems].

I doubt that Apple will even get into the gaming industry anyways, not further than making video-games anyways unless they REALLY really want to compete with Microsoft on yet another front [which seems to be what Apple exists for]. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.183.214.197 (talk) 21:36, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

xbox 720, playstation 4, wii 2 not releasing for another 5 years after 2010(360)and 2011(wii2, ps4)

[edit]

because Microsoft will release Project Natal (the motion sensing controller for the 360) in 2010, and Sony will also release a Playstation Motion Controller for the PS3 and Nintendo will release a Wii MotionPlus expansion device for the Wii, this means the eighth generation will not start for the extra 5-8 years. before microsoft announced project natal as well as sony announcing playstation motion controller and even nintendo announcing a wii motionplus, we would expect them to release new consoles around 2010-2012.71.168.192.76 (talk) 02:16, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

oh i forgot to say that i would expect a new xbox for 2010-2012 and ps4 for 2011-2012 as well as the wii 2 or nintendo's 6th console for 2011. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.168.192.76 (talk) 02:18, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation

I saw your impassioned plea for History of video game consoles (eighth generation) two years ago, this may help:

The article you created was just deleted?
All is not lost. Here is what you can do right now:

Many administrators will be happy to give you a copy of your deleted article, either by putting it on a special user page for you (a process called userfication) or by e-mailing you a copy.

Once you have the article, you can try to resolve the issues why it was deleted.

If you've repaired the article, or you believe the reasons for deleting the article were in error, you can dispute the deletion at Deletion Review. Generally, you must show how the previous deletion(s) were in error, but this is the place to resolve disputes about whether a deletion was wrong.

Glad you decided to join! If you need any help in anyway, please let me know.

Here to help articles tagged for rescue!

Hi, Ghym, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, which can be fixed and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to post a question on the talk page.

And once again — Welcome! Ikip (talk) 15:36, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Beyond rescuing worthy articles, our project needs assistance in:

  1. Creating our next newsletter. Please message me if you are interested.
  2. Suggestions on how to create Building/modifying a bot which will list all pages with the rescue template on one page, similar to Category:Wikipedia deletion sorting pages.

Eighth Generation consoles

[edit]

The 8th Generation of video game consoles are already here. They are the following:

Nintendo 3DS XBox 360 Slim XBox 360 Kinect PlayStation Move

Many don't consider this, but we are now entering the next generation of gaming. Each generation of gaming is roughly 5-7 years, so these are the new generation of consoles.

Request for opinion

[edit]

Hi Ghym: Sorry to trouble you, but I could not help but notice your expression of affection for TOS on the Wikipedians who like Star Trek: The Original Series page, and so I would be curious of your thoughts on the notability of a Star Trek author for whom I just created a Wikipedia article -- which may be promptly destined for the trash pile. As a newcomer here at Wikipedia, my first article attempt was indeed recommended for deletion within hours of its creation by a senior user named JzG who seems to me to be overly hostile and dismissive of Star Trek, calling it fancruft (= trivial, obscure, of importance to just a tiny group of fanatics) . Since you are a Trek fan, if it is also your good faith opinion that my subject is in no way deserving of an article on this site; and you could let me know, I would feel much more comfortable with the justice of the pending deletion action. My proposed article may be seen here, assuming you visit the page soon enough ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Gurian Kind Regards. Tosresearcher (talk) 05:44, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
