Chemmannar is a village in the High ranges of Idukki district, Kerala, India.It is the one of the most beatiful spice village in Idukki The Name Chemmannar Is Derived From The Tributory River Of Periyar..water of the river is red coloured Because It Contain Red Soil In Malayalam Called "Chemmannu". The Main Occupation Of People In Chemmannar Is Agiculture they Cultivating Cardamom,Pepper,Rubber,Vanila,Coco..etc Chemmannar Is The One Of The Big Spice Village In Kerala..Most People Of Chemmannar Came From Kottayam District District about 65 Years Ago. sxhsschemmannar IS the one of the main learning centre in this Area

The History Of Chemmannar Starts From the History of Idukki, We have very little authentic knowledge which throws light into the ancient history of Chemmannar Village. Eventhough there is clear evidence whether men of the paleolithic age lived here, there is evidence of stone-age civilisation. Stone-age dolmens we can see Pambupara.
