Comment about when to use "Edit Summary" and when to use "Talk Page"[edit]

Hello - You asked a question on the Yom Kippur talk page, namely, "I'm not sure if this sort of thing belongs on Talk pages, please let me know if I need to sign/explain a small contribution like this one." I'm a new user myself, but here's what I have found that works. I always use the "Edit Summary" line, (I am "zealous" about this) and include as much as possible. When I can't fit a clear and complete explanation in the Edit Summary line, then I write the longer explanation in the Talk page. For example, I would have put a short explanation for adding the citation in the "Edit Summary" and bothered with putting anything on the talk page. (It was clear what you were doing.) However, the section you wrote about not using the Mishna for Halachah was perfect so far as I can tell. There are actually very few rules - a lot comes down to common sense, I think. You may want to read more of the extensive commentary and documentation on using Wikipedia to get a sense of the approach, if you already haven't done so. ... Nice edits, by the way. I mistakenly created the above draft page without the "User" namespace[edit]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Xeround logo.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Xeround logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Hello Gilad.maayan. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to N2WS (Veeam), but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all.   • I did disclose my COI - this text appears on my user page: "I am currently representing N2WS, NetApp, and additional hi-tech companies. I'm aware of Wikipedia's policies regarding Conflict of Interest and intend to abide by them fully."
As per WP:COIDISCLOSEPAY "Paid editors must also provide links on their Wikipedia user page to all active accounts at websites where they advertise paid Wikipedia-editing services." this I believe you have forgotten to do. This declaration "and additional hi-tech companies" does not meet the disclosure requirements. You have directly edited this article in cotradiction with COI guidelines which say that a paid editor should not directly edit the article after it has been accepted at AFC and go through and edit request. --Dom from Paris (talk) 14:04, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I do not advertise paid wikipedia editing services on any website. This is my company URL: [1]. I am not a paid editor, I am a marketing consultant doing many activities for my clients, like an employee. I am not paid specifically to write or edit on Wikipedia and this is a tiny fraction of the work we do for our clients which includes writing 10,000s of words of original content on their websites per month. Are you sure that you do not advertise wikipedia editing as one of your activities on professional social media? Please read again WP:PAID. Please also redact or strike your comments concerning bias by from myself and another editor. If you do not I shall be forced to report this WP:PERSONAL ATTACK.
