Welcome!

Hello, Ginar, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. • Ginar, I recommend you write a few words about yourself and your interests on your user page. One sentence will do. That way you won't appear as a red link everywhere you go. --kingboyk 01:25, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
what's a "red link" Ginar 03:10, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There we go, better than mine now! Sigh. --kingboyk 23:06, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AFD[edit]

Welcome to wikipedia. One thing, since you're new, a nomination to AFD is already a vote to delete so there is no need to vote "Delete per my nom" (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brown noser). The best, feydey 22:16, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ok, wasn't sure. I've seen others vote "per my non" Ginar 22:17, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template:User inclusionism[edit]

Hi, Do you plan to do anything with this blank template? If not, would you mind nominating it for deletion at Wikipedia:Templates for deletion? --kingboyk 19:35, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ya go for it. I screwed up with thatGinar 20:02, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SQL[edit]

Further to a question you asked me, I found a site that allows the execution of SQL queries against the latest wikipedia database dumps - [1]. --kingboyk 05:47, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Christopher Winship[edit]

This may be a stretch, as you don't seem active lately, but in case you do get this in the next few days: you said you're a sociologist, and there's an article, Christopher Winship about a sociologist that seems pretty important (named professorship at Harvard, over 80 publications including 3 books) but I have no idea how to describe his contributions. Hopefully the article will survive the deletion process it's under, but it does need cleaning up so that it can be informative. It seems like the man is notable, I just don't know what can be said about him. Mangojuice 00:12, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Psychology Wiki[edit]

The Logo for the Psychology Wiki.

Hi Ginar,

I noticed that you are a sociologist interested in psychology, and thought you might be interested in this project which I am involved in, The Psychology Wiki.

I won't say too much, as I'd like you to judge it for yourself, but you should find that it is different from Wikipedia, because approximately 90% of our contributors so far are psychologists, academics, or students and trainees.

Its hosted by a company called Wikia, which was founded by Jimmy Wales and Angela Beesley. There are Google Ads on the site, but we dont make money from the project, they're just to pay for the bandwidth, storage and technical support that Wikia give us.

Have a look and see what you think

Unspecified source for Image:Bol cover large.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bol cover large.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 12:09, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
