Catherine Meyer citations

I appreciate your efforts to add reliable sources to the article, but you really need to do a better job in a number of ways. First, don't remove "citation needed" templates without replacing them with a valid source. In your last round of edits, you removed many without any basis. Second, check your work afterwords to make sure things work. Some of the citations you added get "not found"s, some you made typos so they don't work at all (like httl instead of http). Third, putting an inline web reference (like for the Lycee Francais) is not generally done at Wikipedia and should be avoided. Along the same lines, if the article says she went to the School of Slavonic and European Studies, putting a cite in for the school itself does not support the assertion. That just says the school exists, not that she went to it. Fourth, the citation style in the article is awful. Read up on WP:CITE, which explains how to add inline citations. Look at other articles that do a better job. It's not fair of you to expect other editors to clean up your citations. Frankly, I don't understand why you're interested only in this article and the related PACT article, but, even assuming you don't have a conflict - which is hard to assume - at least try to do better when editing. Re Parents and Abducted Children Together

I noticed you'd done some work on the Parents and Abducted Children Together article. However, it looks like you've removed a lot of <ref> tags, instead replacing them with bare links to external sites within the article. This is contrary to WIkipedia policy; take a look at WP:MOSLINK for some information about proper linking.

Another problem is that some of the content you added might not conform to Wikipedia's neutral point of view. For example, one sentence you added stated: "PACT's mission is to put an end to the tragedy of missing and abducted children". That may be true, but it's better to write it neutrally, as it was originally in the article. Take a look at some other articles on non-profits to get an idea how to write these sorts of articles in a neutral way.

Finally, I'll mention that it seems you've been doing a lot of editing related to PACT and Catherine Meyer over the past few years. It's important to ensure that you don't have a conflict of interest. Check out WP:COI to learn more about what a conflict of interest is. wia (talk) 15:03, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

In your latest edit, you removed a valid citation. Did you have a reason for doing so? I ask because it's usually not a good idea to remove citations without a valid reason. Furthermore, you added an internal link to a Wikipedia article, but you wrapped it in single brackets. The proper way to link to another Wikipedia article is [[like this]], which would link to an article called "like this". You need to make sure you're doing these citations correctly. Thank you for pointing out the error in my citations but you've reverted a lot of work back to the original. I will endeavor to maintain the correct referencing style and include all necessary citations. Also remain neutral. But please allow me to edit the page without reverting as I am doing this on behalf of PACT and the information I am including is by the instruction of the Founder. Thank you so much.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean when you say "the information I am including is by the instruction of the Founder"? If someone from PACT is telling you to edit the PACT WIkipedia article, that sounds like it could be a potential conflict of interest. Are you familiar with the conflict of interest rules? Thank you, I appreciate your help. I am new to wiki editing and now familiar with the rules! I will sort out the proper referencing, and ensure neutrality. By my comment, I meant that as an outsider I am trying to make sure the wikipedia page reflects the information on the charities website and update the information to reflect what has happened to the charity in the last 3 years. I understand the COI rules and am simply trying to ensure the information is up to date - as per the wikiapedia creed!

Wikipedia can have a bit of a learning curve since there are so many policy rules, and sometimes people are trigger-happy when it comes to reverting edits—myself included.
