Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 00:16, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pre- independence folk song collector?

[edit]

GUnaydin- In 2006 I was with a Turkish friend in central Anatolia and we passed through a Kappadokian village with a statue of a man with a tar and I was told that he was a famous collector of 'our' folksongs- I no longer can find or remember his name (and my friend has been no help in this) I looked at your article but do not recognize his name on your list. The one thing I have tried to get is his collection if it was published (this is the part that my friend was no help with) And if you understand who I might mean ---was this collection published and did it include melodies/notation?
