Westernised Chinese

I changed the EN-ZH translations for now to the best of my capability (no Chinese school for me for 3 years -_-). see if you like the change, because I took some shortcuts with structure、specifically with assuming the subject was implied. Thanks - I agree with most of your changes, but wrt the "income decline" example, maybe the previous sentence would be more comprehensible to Chinese readers. --Givesaved (talk) 09:22, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm not going to revert unless you or a third party agrees to, but how exactly would the previous sentence be more comprehensible? '由' is far more formal and an example is: "由田汉作词" (lyrics written by Tian Han) 华钢琴49 (TALK) 21:10, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

First off, Chinese is topic-prominent; Secondly, Chinese tends to clump clauses with other parts of the sentence, without using a comma; Thirdly, "由" is no more than a preposition that translates to "by", used both formally and informally - and on the contrary "变了..." is much more informal than "改变". "因为" or (to a lesser extent) "由于" is a more appropriate conjunction in this sentence. --Givesaved (talk) 11:13, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
