Speedy deletion of Skycasters

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Skycasters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. §FreeRangeFrog 23:07, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Helpful comments

[edit]

FreeRangeFrog:

Thank you for these helpful comments. I'd very much like to retrieve (userfy) the deleted page (I saw the list of admins who can help, but have no idea how to submit a request).

I'm confident the entity I posted about is important for the world to know about, and therefore encyclopedia-worthy, but would very much like to learn how to write an entry that satisfies wikipedia standards.

I've userified your deleted article, you'll find it at User:Glandefeld/Skycasters. Please work to remove the copyrighted text of others, and tone it down from markety to factual. Good luck. ++Lar: t/c 04:01, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, it took me a while to figure out this was intended for me. In the future when you want to tell someone something here on Wikipedia, make sure you leave a message on their talk page, like mine. That I see immediately :) Having said that, I see that Lar userified your article. If you need help with that, let me know. Just remember to a) Make it encyclopedic in tone and content; and b) Provide valid, reliable sources for all the information. §FreeRangeFrog 05:40, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Glandefeld/Skycasters, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages: user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for businesses.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page in question and leave a note on this page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Calton | Talk 01:35, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
