A tag has been placed on Y S College, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:53, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation of why " Y S College" was deleted[edit]

Hello Globalitsources.
It was written like an advertisement for the College, not an encyclopedia article. Wikipedia articles must be written with from a neutral point of view: expressions like "modern and magnificent campus", "a place and name of pride among the pioneering institutions", "great ambience promotes great learning" have no place in a Wikipedia article.
I also note that much of the text that was in the previous versions of the article was copied straight from websites associated with Y S College. For example:

  • deleted page: "....is to equip the students with value based education and the latest know-how to achieve intellectual competitiveness."
  • from http://www.ysgroup.in/admissions/vision-mission/: "... is to equip the students with value based education and the latest know-how to achieve intellectual competitiveness."

At the bottom of that webpage is Copyright 2013 by YS Group. All Rights Reserved. Wikipedia cannot accept text that is a violation of copyright.
That said, High Schools and Tertiary Colleges are generally good subjects for Wikipedia articles. I would be happy to help you write an article about "Y S College" (if it meets Wikipedia's guidelines for inclusion) - just let me know.

Ways to improve Y S College[edit]

Hi, I'm Missionedit. Globalitsources, thanks for creating Y S College!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. /

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Anastasia (talk) 00:01, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Angelo Falco requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

December 2019[edit]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Certified Internet Web Professional. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 16:24, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

December 2019[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page.
