Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Gogdf. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page [[*Gogdf (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a username that implies shared use. First edits included[User:Gogdf/sandbox/Genesis Development Foundation]], you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. StrikerforceTalk 20:56, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

August 2018[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization, person or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:30, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Greetings! I was trying to figure out why I was blocked. If its screen name I change that, the page was designed for a company. I submitted for review for coding. I have never coded before. I am not here to vandalize, promote, or advertise. Genesis Development Foundation is a nonprofit organization. Thank you Gogdf (talk) 00:12, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "coding" and "coded". Regardless, the reason for your block is explained above and below this unblock request. Yamla (talk) 12:52, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

See WP:AWARENESS, and the above block notice. Motivation is not the issue, any username representing any type of group is not permitted per our username policy. You will need to indicate what new username you would like if you want this block lifted, but as a “soft” block ayou are also welcome to just create a new account with a non-infringing username, just keep in mind that Wikipedia is intended to cover only notable subjects that have already been written about by multiple independent reliable sources. Hello, Gogdf. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "sandbox/Genesis Development Foundation".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 23:06, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
