This webpage is not yet properly balanced. To achieve balance there needs to be representative material taken from essays and chapters on Hart. Ephemeral reviews are inappropriate for an encyclopedia entry, and are very uncommon on Wikipedia pages. At the very least, material should be referred by journals and academic presses; this is not done with newspaper reviews and internet reviews. There is plenty of referred material on Hart, and any big Library can supply editors with the material they need. Why not quote from the book on Hart? Hi! You actually posted this in the wrong place--this is your personal talk page. I noticed because I was looking through your contributions to see what else you had posted. The place you want to put this is Talk:Kevin Hart (poet). As to your specific concerns:

  1. We will not include "representative material taken from essays and chapters on Hart." We summarize many things into one source, quoting as little as possible. Currently, the article already has too many quotations, and needs to be converted more into our words. But we may be able to include information from those sources--more sources would be great. If you have suggestions, please post them on the article's talk page, and we can figure out if they can be integrated.
  2. We do not use only journals and academic presses. We generally don't include "internet reviews," but I don't think we have any of those in the article. Again, Wikipedia is not an academic press, and we regularly include a wide variety of sources. A source has to meet [WP:RS|the reliable sources guideline]], but that definitely includes things like newspaper reviews.
  3. If you know of more reference material, please tell us! Let us know some sources. Now, I'm not saying we'll include everything, because they're already too much, and it's unbalanced, and it relies too much on quoting things a layperson won't understand, but we should consider every possible source, picking the ones that tell the "story" best. Some of us, like myself, don't have access to a "big library" (I, for instance, don't live in an English speaking country). So we love the contributions of others.
  4. Which book on Hart do you mean? I know I'm repeating myself, in saying that we probably don't want to quote from it, but we may well want to refer to it, if it's a reliable source.

Please join the discussion at Talk:Kevin Hart (poet). I also recommend that you familiarize yourself with how Wikipedia works, and what our goals are. You seem to be coming from an academic background, so it may be helpful for you to see in what ways we are like, and what ways we are unlike academic journals--we have different goals, different rules on sourcing, and very different rules on maintaining a neutral point of view and forbidding original research. I'm going to leave our standardized welcome message below which has some helpful links for you. Qwyrxian (talk) 02:33, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

There's no real doubt that you are the same individual that has been anonymously editing Kevin Hart (poet) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for some time, and your actions have been consistently to belittle the subject. This is unacceptable per our policy on living individuals. You may request an unblock if you wish to edit other areas not in any wayy related to Hart but as of now I am banning you, personally and not limited to this account, from that article.
