Although you may believe it to be speculation, the article sourced for his suicide (drowning) clearly states, "He died by drowning, according to the coroner." - the article is also titled "YouTube gaming personality Desmond 'Etika' Amofah's died by suicide, officials say", which confirms it was both suicide and drowning.
