According to their website, they don't even have an office in Hong Kong. I'm looking at [1]. Do you have any reliable source indicating their are headquartered in Hong Kong? --Hammersoft (talk) 14:05, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

About their corporate info

[edit]

In this link : https://xapo.com/about/

They declare : HEADQUARTERS Xapo is incorporated in Hong Kong , has an office in Palo Alto, California and operates Worldwide.

In the hong kong company register exist Xapo Limited incoporated in 2013. In the SEC filings you have more information about their corporate information for US residents clients.

If you are US resident you deal with Xapo INC, as I write it.

There is no connection with Switzerland in their current or past Terms and Conditions , see wayback machine.

There is a Xapo GmbH in Switzerland but without connection from Xapo.com, that why its misleading to say its a Switzerland company.

Why do you reverse my changes ?

Thanks

PS: https://xapo.com/careers/ just post remote work offers. They have there people working from Argentina, Gibraltar, Philippines, etc.

Nice to work remotely — Preceding unsigned comment added by GoodCorporate (talkcontribs)

  • Sometimes web pages do not load all content on initial load. When I checked the page you used as a source, it said nothing about Hong Kong. When I looked at the careers page there, it did not show an office in Hong Kong. On first pass, ...no mention of Hong Kong and the company doesn't offer career options in Hong Kong, so it didn't follow the headquarters of the company being in Hong Kong. I've taken a closer look at the page you cited, loading everything, and I see you are correct. I've self-reverted. Thanks. In the future, when you make an entry on a talk page (such as here), please sign your comments with a "~~~~", and this will automatically be transformed into a username and date/time stamp signature. All the best, --Hammersoft (talk) 15:21, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, GoodCorporate. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Xapo, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Chris Troutman (talk) 15:46, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Non Conflict of interest.

[edit]

I am to not working for or with any company related with Xapo, I explain my reasons here :

It is my interest and public too (I gess) to put clear at Wikipedia / for wikireaders that this company is not based nor regulated by the Swiss authorities.

It's common to try to appear (innocently of course:) to be from Switzerland, it's totally wrong to do this.

For example when you search at google "swiss bitcoin exchange", appear :

https://www.bitcoinsuisse.ch/ ... Xapo - Bitcoin Wallet & Vault Xapo.com

Both have different regulators , the first is regulated by the self-regulatory organization the VQF and the latter by XXX ?

That's why I researched about it and changed it because it's misleading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GoodCorporate (talkcontribs) 17:05, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. We have a lot of paid editors (not to mention partisans) editing Wikipedia and many don't realize that the Terms of Use require that they divulge their connections. I always ask the question around any article about business-related articles where someone would have a fiduciary interest in an article. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:20, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
