Hello Elizium 23, I was a pupil at the school in the mid 1960's and wish to preserve a little of it's history and the fact that it did exist. I have had no affiliation with any organisation or owner of the building or site since it closed in 1971.

I think that given those two factors, your actual conflict of interest is close to nil. I have retracted the notice. The article looks alright for starters. Thanks for your fast reply and the edits. Can you Accept the article and I will continue to add to it as I obtain new information. Thank you for reviewing my article. The school is of interest to social historians who may want to research schools that were evacuated from main cities in England at the outbreak of World War II. It is notable for its progressive approach to discipline which will be of interest to educational and social historians. It also has the claim of being the first school in England to host an aircraft landing field. Since many other schools also have pages in Wikipedia I thought that this was an appropriate and interesting addition. I hope you will reconsider allowing the article to be published.GordonD (talk) 20:18, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

All of these things are very interesting, and it really pains me to say this because you clearly enjoy writing about the school. But, that said, my problem with the article is two-fold. One, of course, is the lack of sources. This leads into my second point of contention. While all of these stories about the school make for a very charming article, they do not lend themselves to an encyclopedic article. For instance, I don't imagine you'll be able to find secondary sources referencing the school's punishment system. While it's an interesting read, it's not very important in the grand scheme of things. Likewise, wartime airfields are a well documented occurrence in England, but you may have trouble writing a thorough enough article about the school's own airfield to justify an entire article. Perhaps a small subsection in another article would be appropriate?

Of course, this is all contingent upon your ability to research and document reliable secondary sources. If you find a handful of sources that attest to the importance of this school, its airfield and punishment structure, etc., then please include them in the article. Otherwise, I stand by my previous assessment. Nonetheless, thank you for your continuing enthusiasm and receptiveness to criticism.

Hi again, Gordon. You've tagged this image with the {{PD-US-1996}} tag, which claims that it's in the public domain in the United States because, among other things, it was in the public domain in its home country on January 1, 1996. Do you have any evidence for that? —Bkell (talk) 22:07, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

The picture was scanned from a 1950 postcard that was given free by the school to parents. The school closed in 1969 and the headmaster died in 1971. The postcard used for the scan was destroyed in a house fire and I do not know of any other original. GordonD (talk) 09:18, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
