To develop your article for this assignment, please set up a dedicated user subpage for it and save the link on your main userpage. You would do this by creating a name consisting of a backslash followed by the proposed article title (or "Draft" or any text). It should be coded like this: [[/Article title]]. Click on that link to create the new subpage, which will be created at User:Student username/Article title. You can then add some text, save it, and then continue.

Since you're improving an existing article, one strategy would be to develop sections on your user page rather than in the main Wikipedia entry. You can then transfer that to the main entry when you've got it the way you like. Hoopes (talk) 01:37, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As I mentioned today after class, it's very important to go to the primary sources whenever possible. Del Rio's work was first published in the Antiquities of Mexico by Lord Kingsborough, which are available in KU's Spencer Research Library. You should go right to Vol. 1 (which is where I think Del Rio's work appears) and look at the actual material. I would also recommend books on the history of Maya archaeology and the site of Palenque. Hoopes (talk) 21:32, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
