Dietrich Grunewald moved to draftspace

[edit]

It appears that you may have a conflict of interest with the subject of Dietrich Grunewald, and as such you should submit this article to be published through the Articles for Creation process. Before editing the article further, please first disclose on your user page and on the article's Talk page whether you have received money to write this or other articles on Wikipedia, or if you have any other kind of conflict of interest concerning the subject. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Before submitting, you should make sure that the article is fully compliant with Wikipedia’s neutrality and verifiability policies, as well as our notability guidelines. When you’re ready, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Per Wikipedia's policy on paid editing, do not move the article back to mainspace until you have addressed COI concerns. signed, Rosguill talk 00:26, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize, but I do not understand your instructions regarding disclosure on my user page. When I click onto the page, it says that a user page with Goryd2016 does not exist. When I try to create it, it instructs me to type in the box below, but does not specify what I should be typing in the box below. In addition, a search of my user name does not yield any results, while this page's heading reads: "User talk: Goryd2016" as if to suggest that Goryd2016 is in fact my user name.
Regarding questions of conflict of interest, I have not been paid to write the article on Dietrich Grunewald and have never been paid to write a Wikipedia article. I am Gregory Dietrich, the youngest son of Dietrich Grunewald (from his third marriage). I am a preservation consultant who works primarily as an architectural historian and serves as a part-time, adjunct professor at NYU in its Art History, Urban Design and Architecture Studies program. Research, analysis and writing forms the basis of everything I do as a professional working in the field of Historic Preservation. I am interested in promoting the legacy of my father's work as a designer and artist through a full portrait of his life and career. Toward that end, I understand Wikipedia's rules and guidelines, and have reviewed multiple articles specifically about artists to ensure I am using standard headings and an objective tone. I have also been intent on ensuring that I can substantiate everything that I have written, while also correcting any misinformation that currently exists on him. For example, there is already a Wikipedia article on him in Swedish that was based on an entry in Svenskt Konstnärs Lexikon (aka Swedish Artists Directory) from 1953. However, this entry failed to give the correct name of the art school he attended in Stockholm (Welamson's not Wilhelmsons)--and only considers his career up until 1953. I have spent the better part of a year working on a website that celebrates his life and work, which prompted a deep dive into research of published sources, and also gave presentations at two art clubs in Manhattan earlier this year; I have not received any compensation for these activities. Please let me know if you would like me to forward you any of the published sources I reference in the article. I have most everything. Thank you for your help. AfC notification: Draft:Dietrich Grunewald has a new comment

[edit]
I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Dietrich Grunewald. Thanks! Hoary (talk) 05:34, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: (1) What's the meaning of Dietrich Grunewald, Dietrich: Memoirs of My Life and Art (La Quinta, CA: UNPUBLISHED, 1997), 6. -- a wittily named publisher, or a curiously specific failure to be published?
Between 1996 and 1997, my father wrote his memoirs as a means of sharing his life story with his family and friends. These were never published, though he distributed a limited number of copies to members of his family and friends here, as well as to his family in Sweden. He never pursued a publisher.
(2) If a set of sources are "all on file with the Dietrich Family Estate, New York, NY", then how may interested members of the reading public get permission to view them? Hoary (talk) 05:34, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
They may contact me through my user page and request the specific documentation they are seeking. Unfortunately, I do not have his unpublished memoirs in electronic form, but can scan individual pages depending on the information requested. Otherwise, beyond the published sources that I have cited in the footnotes and references, I have ephemera, such as exhibition invitations and brochures, that I can email to members of the public upon request.
