Hello again[edit]

Hello Professor Greenleaf, and welcome to the sometimes very strange world of Wikipedia.
Why strange? Well, while there is a guide for younger editors, there is no guide for academics. Many academics find Wikipedia very frustrating, and this "essay" might explain some of the pitfalls. And there is also Randy in Boise, who is now your peer in the sometimes very strange world of Wikipedia. No, seriously!

Your addition to CanLII has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Response Thanks for the heads-up, TJRC. As you noted on the CanLII page, this was a a good faith error. I did not add the material in question to Wikipedia, but was moving it from the Free Access to Law Movement page in the course of rationalising that page. As an inexperienced editor I am reluctant to delete information which others have added, and is not factually incorrect. In hindsight, lengthy quotes should clearly not be moved, but instead referred for advice. All part of the learning experience! GrahamGreenleaf (talk) 00:57, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. By the way, in the future, please don't edit an editor's user page (i.e., User:TJRC); that page is essentially solely for use by the editor it is associated with.
