Compromise[edit]

I have an idea, instead of us constantly changing the article, lets divide it up. We can put a list of certian Super Forms like we have now, and under that make one that is just a Super Transformation section with Tails and Knuckles, we just can't say that they are Super Forms just new Transformations. Sound good? -User:SonicChaosBlaze

Well, I'm going to tell you what the help desk said in a nutshell: Let the reader decide. This means that for Tails, Knuckles, Silver, and by extension "Mecha" Sonic will all go into a section of their own. (probably something along the lines of "un-named Super Transformations"). We can list the abilities and traits they have in comparison with other transformations. Afterwards, it can be stated that they have not been publicly named, which leaves the reader to guess on their own about a name. I will have you know that once we agree on something, you can count on me to enforce it with force :P GrandMasterGalvatron 17:50, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In regards to your recent revert, you might want to know why the article is not yet a feature article. Those changes I made were to solve some of the issues raised there, in particular, that the article should be written from an out-of-universe perspective; they were not vandalism. If you want to reply to me personally, please do so on my talk page under the heading Re:Revert to Sonic the Hedgehog (character). Thanks! --DavidHOzAu 10:32, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Very well. However, since the cartoon and Fleewtay version don't have an article, perhaps they should be mentioned on this page or given articles of their own? Grandmastergalvatron 14:25, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, Sonic's representation in Sonic the Comic has been burning for his own article for a while, but I can't help but think that the new article would be sort of small and disjointed for a while. (Only the British seem to know much about the comic, and there isn't that much information there to go off anyway.) Another option would be to propose a move of Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie character) to Sonic the Hedgehog (character in spin off media) where all differences can be discussed; however it might be a bit big and I'm not sure everyone would like the size it could reach. :( If and when we do make a new article for the information, we can put it a nice summary section
Copying and pasting removed sections to the article talk page is probably our best idea for now though. It's just important to keep some sort of summary section in there somewhere; alternate versions seems to be a good place for that now. Whatever we do, I keeping it in the video game character article has probably contributed a bit of undue weight for some time now. To be honest, I've been meaning to fix this for a while, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. ;) --DavidHOzAu 07:31, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FOOLED!!!!!!!!![edit]

You shouldn't call them reatards. They got that stuff from a ZenkaiKenny re-dub on Youtube (that I saw too). They didn't know him for sure an didn't know Silver's real name. They were fooled and it's wrong to call them retards just because they fell victim to comedy re-dubs and didn't know Silver very well. SoundPound500000 November 7, 2006 3:30

Actually...I was referring to vandals ^^'...someone replaced Silver's name with "Cracka".

The only times I will ever call anyone a retard here will be those who blatantly vandalize pages :)GrandMasterGalvatron 22:03, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Sonic template[edit]

I posted this on the talk page, but it seems to have been abandoned. I would say that the changes you made to the templates, although in good faith, actually do more harm than help. While the old template was kinda large, it was far more functional than what we have now. It's simply too much of an inconvenience for the reader to switch from a character like Amy to a character like Manic. (that's coming from someone who does that frequently as a part of article maintenance. Although I'm tempted to just revert the thing, I don't think that'd be right considering the effort put into it. I would like to see if we can reached some sort of consensus in order to enable the reader to flawlessly switch between characters of all universes as they please. Also, the template as it is now, supports "Sega Sonic" bias which should never be allowed here as it's just plain fancruft. GrandMasterGalvatron 14:45, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When a template or an article becomes excessively large, it is convention to split them into separate pages. (see Wikipedia:Article size and Wikipedia:Summary style). Actually, the sheer size of the three Sonic templates, {{Sonic games}}, {{Sonic characters}} and {{Sonic features}}, were highlighted at WT:CVG#Navboxes yet again as being an endemic problem to most CVG-related articles. Besides, all Sonic-related articles that I know of can be navigated from Sonic the Hedgehog series. You see, separating spin offs from the central media is not fancruft in this case: it's common sense. --DavidHOzAu 01:37, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage vandalism[edit]

Looks like the admins have it under control. Report vandalism in need of blocks to WP:AIV and request protection of affected pages at WP:RFPP, but the volume here looks low enough that patrollers are taking care of it with reverts. Regards, Dmcdevit·t 08:51, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! You recently added an external link to YouTube in an article. It has been removed because the link pointed to a non-encyclopedic source.

If it is, please do not link to the page. Knowingly and intentionally directing others to a site that violates copyright has been considered a form of copyright infringement in the United States (Intellectual Reserve v. I guess I can only suggest to find another source that meets WP:EL. Youtube videos are almost all copyvios, and unless specifically stated to be released under a license that can be used in wikipedia, they just can't be used for legal reasons. Image tagging for Image:Sonicnextgen2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sonicnextgen2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Thank you! (Talk:Totally spies)[edit]

I had to respond to someone in paragraph 12...he insulted totally spies fans on "we're childlike, potheads or losers". Thanks for removing that nonsense and let's keep the page on-topic. Also an idiot anon IP thinks he's in the storyboard said he/she knew where Alex is from, or where some of the spies' character design is based on. I wouldn't know that Sam looks like Alyssa Milano, or Clover looks like Cameron Diaz, whoever the animators got the idea to draw the spies. It's pointless to say Totally Spies is an "American" anime or it's French or Japanese, regardless the animation isn't in Japan. Totally spies is an original and give it respect by keeping the information accurate. Can't wait for the movie to come out soon. 63.3.14.1 17:33, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One Question[edit]

Why do you refer to yourself in the third person on your user page? Oh, and thanks a lot for helping with the Sonic the Hedgehog page (esp helping to keep Chao under wraps.) I'm thinking about adding you to my friends list. Would you mind if I did? DeathGodDragon EDGE 21:14, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is because I wrote my userpage as if it were a Wikipedia article XD. You'd be better off adding me to a messenger list or something but do what you like :) GrandMasterGalvatron 21:22, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Burning Blaze[edit]

I really don't think that the image is needed at all. Yes, it illustrates Burning Blaze, but it's a paragraph's worth of content. I don't believe that this qualifies as enough "critical commentary" per WP:FUC to justify the fair use claim. In any case, I'd just rather wait until we get official artwork, because that image from the DS is just really, really bad. Hbdragon88 01:17, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's just the thing. We may never get official artwork and then we're left pictureless which is just plain no good. In the situation we have here, the image is fine as is, unless a better quality version can be made. IF official artwork is released (which I severely doubt) than that can be uploaded in the place of it.GrandMasterGalvatron 02:17, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm for removing images and only including them when necessary...but never mind that. I do have a good camera, so let me pull up a FAQ and finally beat that damn game (I got too frustrated in the final battle), and let me try to take a better copy. Hbdragon88 21:53, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Very well. I was actually up for the suggestion of getting a really good fan rendered image up there (I could make one of near Sonic Channel quality), but I'm not certain of Wikipedia's policy on something like that.GrandMasterGalvatron

No. We told him it wasn't true (and calmly I might add) and he didn't want to accept it. Things like what he added REALLY hurt in the peer review. Rouge's age[edit]

Sonic team has stated many ages, greatly in the chaotix who were

Charmy: 16 Espio: 17 Vector: 16

Not that this explains anything but it could mean that sonic team has a huge inconsistency problem with keeping up with a lot of data, including rouge's age. Im just saying...thats all.....

That's a good point. But as of Sonic Adventure, Sonic Team retconned everything to the JPN side of things. It was also stated that the Chaotix were not reused, but recreated. It was in the EGM issue of that time period. They've got all their data straight now..it's just Sega of America that keeps screwing things up. The Sonic Channel bios are the latest and up to date, as well as official data of the characters. You can find them translated here. I assure you, the whole Rouge faux pas is nothing but a typo on Sega of America's end. Just like they whole "Queen Blaze" thing. :)GrandMasterGalvatron 22:45, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Knuckles2006.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Knuckles2006.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:52, 28 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 23:52, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Need some help[edit]

Check out this debate in Rouge's talk page. This dude is actually trying to say that Sonic Channel isn't a reliable source, even though it's directly from Sonic Team. He's also insisting that Rouge should be mentioned as 17/18 even though that's a direct contradiction to Sonic Team's data. Can I get a little assistance here?GrandMasterGalvatron 15:09, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reply to your comment on my user page[edit]

I would have done that, except that it would have left all of the other stuff 207.74.196.20 had put in (he/she changed switch to swich, added the fictional deities category, added a sentence about how he may or may not have a driver's license, among other things). I didn't want to leave some of that in, so I had to revert back and add your edits afterward. --LuigiManiac | Talk 19:40, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{{Sonic games}} inclusion criteria[edit]

Sorry, I meant to add this note to your talk page much earlier, but was busy at the time: :sweatdrop:

An inclusion criteria for {{Sonic games}} and related templates has been proposed at Template talk:Sonic games#Totally new inclusion criteria, with an introductory preamble at #Shadow III: Son of Shadow, #Proposed inclusion criteria, and #Inclusion of Sonic Rush. You are cordially invited to discuss the proposal.

What are you talking about?[edit]

I never deleted any facts on Shadow and Rouge. And that "Vote please!" section is nothing but crap. It doesn't belong there.

I'm sorry. Just bad timing really. Your edits occur at about the same time as the guy who started that thing. You see, he's a Knuckles/Rouge shipper with multiple accounts and he's prone to not only adding fancruft about Knuckles and Rouge being lovers, but deleting the things about Shadow and Rouge as "revenge". He also deletes anything that proves him wrong as well. I seem to have mistaken you for one of his clone accounts. My apologies.GrandMasterGalvatron 20:00, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About the massive merges...[edit]

Take this of an example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_supernatural_beings_in_Dragon_Ball

Scroll down, and look at the other lists.

Some of the characters of those lists had appeared for over 200 episodes in that anime, but they are reduced to some 4 lines of bio. Last time I did something like that at school, I got a nice F. Do you want the bios of Sonic characters end as some pathetics 4 lines, because of what?

User:Eriorguez

I personally don't like it and was actually fine with the way it is now. However, if that's what Wikipedia wants then let them have it. It'll speak volumes on them in the long run.GrandMasterGalvatron 01:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK then. If the articles have to be comprimed, then those articles will be copy-pastes of older versions.

Question[edit]

Which game came first? Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) or Sonic Rivals? --Coconutfred73 00:52, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Release wise, the 360 version of '06 predated Rivals by three days. The PS3 version came out a month and a half later.
Storywise is a moot question. '06 retconned itself out of the storyline.GrandMasterGalvatron 01:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do I know?[edit]

How do I know his physical age is 15? First it's been thrown in my face here, and he shares way too many similarities to Sonic. His voice even sounds like Sonic's, just in a tough guy way. 207.74.196.20 15:43, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I certainly didn't throw it in anyone's face. That's the fault of IGN and their ignorance. His voice only sounds like Sonic's because his actor voices both of them and sucks at it. Sonic and Shadow sounded nothing alike when Drummond and Humphrey were in control. Anywho, you've got no source for that so I'm gonna have to revert it. Besides, I'd say he's at least 21 XDGrandMasterGalvatron 15:51, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, mind helpin' me over here?[edit]

Could I have a little assistance/somebody to help mediate/another opinion on the Sonic's talk page? I need another opinion or something on the "Destinies" section on the Sonic article (which was removed LONG ago). Even if you'll contest it, I'd rather be mad and brooding than...mad...and brooding... Basically, the name of the game is that I believe the section doesn't do crap, doesn't have enough actual info, has stuff unrelated to it, and is breeding grounds for speculation. That, and I'm not sure how to make some kind of joke there. -Chao9999 05:16, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Chaos Emeralds[edit]

An editor has nominated Chaos Emeralds, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chaos Emeralds and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:19, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:SoniaShow.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SoniaShow.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:MTN DEW UV.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:MTN DEW UV.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 23:57, 13 May 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:57, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
