Signature[edit]

Hi, the formatting in your signature appears to be slightly broken; trying to view pages that contain it gives "Expected ':' but found '='. Declaration dropped" in the error console. In the three places it has font-size=89%, I think it should be font-size:89%, this should produce the effect you're after and display it without errors. Note also that signatures which require a lot of wikimarkup make discussion pages hard to edit and are frowned upon by some editors; you may wish to try something a little less complex. Thanks – Gurch 14:35, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching that. Do you know if there's a way to move the span tag outside the links and preserve the color? I can't seem to make it work, but if I could do that somehow, that would cut the length by almost half. grapħıte_elbowβ 16:24, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've noticed a couple of other things; the style declaration includes "font-weight:750;", which is also causing an error. The W3C CSS2 reference seems to suggest that only multiples of 100, or "normal", "bold", "bolder" and "lighter" are permitted, and if I change the 750 to 700, it no longer reports an error. In my browser and default font (Firefox 2 and Arial), though, any multiple under 500 appears as normal text and anything over 500 appears bold, and if bold formatting is all you want then it's probably better just to use standard wiki-markup, bold text and put everything inside three apostrophes. Anyway, by putting the font-size in a span tag around everything, unicodifying the HTML entities, using font tags for the color instead, and removing a few extra spaces, I can get it down to 294 characters instead of 433 (plus an extra 6 if you want it in bold):
<span style="font-size:89%"><font color=#226644>grapħıte</font><font color=#226644>_</font><font color=#226644>elbow</font><font color=#226644>β</font></span>
which produces – grapħıte_elbowβ – which at least for me looks the same as the signature in your previous comment (I've tested it in Firefox 2, Opera 9.10 and IE 7). I doubt anyone would have a problem with a signature of this length. (I'm not bothered by signature length anyway; I'm just trying to save you some hassle later on) – Gurch 18:30, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good to me. I decided not to go with bold. I've seen a couple websites that said the font tag was deprecated, so I was trying not to use it...but I'd much rather use font than span anyway – more familiar with it. Thanks! grapħıte_elbowβ 18:42, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wii[edit]

I did laugh and thought it was a joke suggestion. I do admit that I sometimes sound too serious though (especially towars newbies). TJ Spyke 07:08, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

siblings userbox[edit]

I love your siblings userbox. However, you did not create the category for wikipedians with 6 siblings. (there are at least one of them. lol). I love the box, and produly display it on my userpage. Thanks for the great work. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 19:23, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, that is what I ended up doind already! Thanks. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 17:49, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UCFD[edit]

I have nominated a category you created, Category:Wikipedians with no siblings, for renaming. You can contribute to the discussion at Wikipedia:User categories for discussion. Thanks, VegaDark 00:43, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've also nominated Category:Wikipedians with 5 siblings for merging. VegaDark 22:07, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox space[edit]

I found your userbox User:Graphite_Elbow/UBX/sibs|2|1|0|0 on User:UBX. Trouble is, even when there's no space, there seems to be a space/break inserted after the user icon. It's currently third down in my profile, and there's a break between that icon and the next one, though obviously there's no break in the code lines when editing the page. I'm kind of new to user boxes, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it's a problem with the userbox. Also, I'm getting the same problem with the User:UBX/lj and User ancestry English, but the rest of the user boxes seem to have spacing that's reflected in the edit page. It's fixed. Thank you :) Kevin 02:19, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-laser needs you![edit]

Please help with the article Anti-laser!!! All the references are there, please at least have a glance at them. I know nothing about this topic but had to write something coherent in the body to stave off speedy deletion. Just have a look at the references, they're all clickable and very interesting, and then I hope you'll be inspired to fix or add to the text of the article. Thanks, your a hero! Have fun!
