Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Grecourt7, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Good afternoon RoySmith. I created both grecourt7 and the content associated with it, but I forgot the password when I went to make more edits and add content. Because I could not find the password to grecourt7, I created grecourt71. I have no intentions of using both or engaging in sockpuppetry; I don't remember the password for grecourt7. Is there a way to merge the two accounts? Grecourt71 (talk) 15:33, 1 May 2018 (UTC)grecourt71[reply]

  • What you could have done to recover your original account was to reset your password. But, no matter, I'll just block the original account and leave a note there that you're using the new one. -- RoySmith (talk) 20:32, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
