WHY THIS ARTICLE SHOULD NOT BE DELETED:

The content on this article is meaningful not only to upcoming newmedia producers (podcasting, videocasting, web 2.0, social networking, web 2.0 trade) but also it sets a precedent of what business practices should and should not be in the relationship of a podcaster/media producer and his/her audience. If this article is deleted it would become a missing part to learn from for future podcasters interested in avoiding the pitfalls Benjamin Grundy went through. Whether the podcaster is or not liable for online fraud it is to be decided by authorities both from the US and and Australia and that is also a the crux of another problem:

How international web 2.0 business relationships should or not be regulated by each of the involved parties and international authorities?

It is not an easy situation to see the number of angry subscribers that wanted their money back and having no international agency that could intervene.

This article sets many precedents due to the implications of one individual selling an intangible product/service and does get paid for it, then when the contract is not followed and arbitrarily changed the audience/customer base has much less protection because there are no guidelines to follow. Please take a moment to think about how many situations like this may take place in the immediate future with the widespread adoption of subscribed content and the number of new podcasters that could learn what happens when they do not follow respectable business practices and their angered audience turns against them. This is a lesson to learn from for future podcasters.
