Welcome from Redwolf24[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

P.S. I like messages :-P

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Greenpointskyline.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. deleting comments on talk:Greenpoint[edit]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages or sections with blank content. It is considered vandalism. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. If you continue, your editting priviledges may be blocked. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:49, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to blank pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Learn how to discuss; do not just blank ext that you disagree with. - UtherSRG (talk) 23:33, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - UtherSRG (talk) 01:26, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked
You have been blocked for vandalism for 24 hours. To contest this block, add the text {{unblock}} on this page, along with an explanation of why you believe this block to be unjustified. You can also email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list. Please be sure to include your username (if you have one) and IP address in your email.

Please do not erase warnings on this page. Doing so is also considered vandalism.

Dude chill out. The block was for 24 hours, and that was days ago now. Get a grip. A hot head does not make a good Wikipedia editor. The sections you are claiming were deleted were moved, not deleted. You moved them, and they were moved back to where you moved them from.- UtherSRG (talk) 21:42, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear UtherSRG - I am commenting here because my IP address is blocked which is why I requested to be unblocked. I never said a section was deleted. I said my comment was deleted as noted. I did not remove text, as you can see in the history. I was restoring deleted comment. For this I have my IP address blocked? I would appreciate it if you would take the same care in restoring my deleted comment in full as you have for others.Greenpoint 22:26, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You were blocked for moving the sections around. Neither HayssalF nor Kungfuadam removed any text. The two of them and myself restored the text into the order it was. If one of them blocked your IP, they did the right thing. Bite the bullet and wait it out. Always edit with a calm head, not a hot one. Always make sure you are logged in since you have an account, you have no need to be editting anonymously. - UtherSRG (talk) 22:44, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear UtherSRG - You are mistaken. My full comment was removed by Kungfuadam and is still being displayed in an edited state. The original text read

"FACT VS FICTION The oil spill is a twenty year old story, and since Williamsburg, Brooklyn has a much higher cancer rate than Greenpoint according to the NYC Dept. of Health (see health section above for reference), I guess the new residents know exactly why they are moving to Greenpoint. It's funny how that oil spill story popped up again after all these years, just when the neighborhood was rezoned and redevelopment has started. Very Curious."

Secondly, Jonas Silk has been moving sections around on the article page and the discussion page. Why are those edits allowed. Is it because they focus on negative things being attributed to the neighborhood? Out of all of the edits that Jonas Silk made and you continually protected, did any one of them contribute anything positive? Oh, but a skyline view from our waterfront created such a stir. And mention anything about a ducumented health study which concluded that the neighborhood has a lower cancer rate than otherr parts of the city, and Jonas Silk can be allowed to move that section down the page following his slanderous comment about imaginary health issues. Anyone who bothers to go through the history can clearly see who is telling the truth.162.83.228.40 01:20, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
