[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Greg Schiemer. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. — Gor1995 𝄞 08:15, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

- Hi, this article about me was written by someone else back in 2011. I am trying to correct some of misinformation. Thanks for reaching out. I am having trouble trying to edit it and update it and I'm very conscious that it looks like a personal webspace which I don't want to to be. Can you suggest what I should do now Greg Schiemer (talk) 08:28, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, per WP:AUTO#IFEXIST, make specific suggestions on the talk page and an independent editor should take care of that. Remember to always include verifiable and reliable sources. You can use the template {{edit COI}} for that, but it's not mandatory. — Gor1995 𝄞 09:17, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. And thanks for your direction to WP:AUTO#IFEXIST We’re not dealing with vandalism here, just a limited knowledge base. Over the last few years several edits, made in good faith by people I’ve never met, gradually changed the narrative and made it inaccurate. For example, one described my occupation as ‘DJ’ presumably because they understand the term ‘electronic music’ differently to the original author’s more generic use of the term. Another was an edit naively referencing the wiki article of a former student which can have potentially problematic implications for other former students who were not referenced. So it I felt it was necessary to correct these. But I can't seem to escape the endless treadmill of editing. All I can suggest is that I tidy unfinished edits, include some recent factual information about work I done since the article was first written then submit it for independent scrutiny by other editors. So I welcome feedback from you and others. Greg Schiemer (talk) 09:54, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- I will use the talk page to notify editors that my edits are ready to review. Greg Schiemer (talk) 10:01, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Apart from one problem with a book reference that I don't understand, I believe I've made all the changes necessary for accuracy. Can you tell me whether these edits are heading in the right direction Greg Schiemer (talk) 13:44, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
