Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.

At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).

Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.

If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:18, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Wikimania

First, it was nice to meet you at Wikimania! I hope we run into each other again sometime. Second, is the hatnote on your userpage really necessary? xD Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 05:35, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

It was nice to meet you too. The hat note is needed after the 30th person at wikimania told me that they mix us up all the time. --In actu (Guerillero) | My Talk 16:26, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
Really? That's kind of funny, actually. Happy editing, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 21:37, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Arbitration Clerk

Hi Guerillero. I believe that you and I had have had nothing but good interactions between each other and you have personally stated that I "have progressed by leaps and bounds in the last few months." I was wondering if you would consider adding me as a clerk trainee to ArbCom Clerks. It is a very interesting subject and place to contribute and I'm always willing to improve. I have feel I have reached a point here where I can take on more challenging situations here on Wikipedia. So I hereby ask you, do you think I can be added as clerk in training either now or in the future (preferably now though)?—cyberpower ChatOnline 21:56, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi Cyberpower678, I believe Guerillero will be out for some time. If you would like to apply to be a clerk, be sure to read this. You are always free to send an email to the clerks mailing list, as the link posted explains. All the best, Lord Roem (talk) 07:52, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
I am aware of this and am ready to wait. I have read everything about what a clerk does which is why I am interested in the job. I personally would like Guerillero to consider me because of all the clerks at ArbCom, he knows me best.—cyberpower ChatOnline 15:51, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Are you back?—cyberpower ChatOnline 01:47, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Just for a little bit. As for becoming a clerk, I have to say no. You don't seem ready yet. I invite you to think about it in 6 - 12 months though --Guerillero | My Talk 02:18, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Ok thanks. What do I need to improve on?—cyberpower ChatOnline 02:24, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Clerking involves lots of contentious areas where saying the wrong thing could have disastrous consequences. I would work on having a more level head and saying things in disputes that calm both sides down. --Guerillero | My Talk 02:31, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. I will do my best.—cyberpower ChatOnline 02:40, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Cyberpower, the people at the dispute resolution noticeboard would love another volunteer! There's no better place to get practice in staying cool than working with warring parties. Ping User:Steven Zhang about helping out! Best, Lord Roem (talk) 00:05, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

The Wikipedia Adventure: Request for feedback on Community Fellowship proposal

Hi! I'm contacting you because you have participated or discussed The Wikipedia Adventure learning tutorial/game idea. I think you should know about a current Community Fellowship proposal to create the game with some Wikimedia Foundation support. Your feedback on the proposal would be very much appreciated. I should note that the feedback is for the proposal, not the proposer, and even if the Fellowship goes forward it might be undertaken by presently not-mentioned editors. Thanks again for your consideration.

You're invited to Masterpiece Museum Edit-a-Thon!

"Masterpiece Museum" Edit-a-Thon at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

The Smithsonian American Art Museum and Wikimedia DC present the "Masterpiece Museum" Edit-a-Thon. Drawing from their vast vaults of art, the caretakers of the Smithsonian American Art Museum have meticulously drawn forth canvas jewels to import into Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia articles. The museum directors and staff are excited about this project, and would love to have experienced Wikimedians help in the effort! Kirill [talk] 18:01, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
