Speedy deletion of Novak Dobrosavljevic[edit]

A tag has been placed on Novak Dobrosavljevic requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ron Ritzman (talk) 16:17, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Novak Dobrosavljević[edit]

I have nominated Novak Dobrosavljević, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Novak Dobrosavljević. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Because the article is either a hoax or vandalism or about a non-notable person. And I'm not the only one who thinks that as it was deleted by someone else previously. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 15:34, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well here's the thing. I did that but almost all of the hits were not in English. The problem is that obviously this is the English Wikipedia. So something has to be said that establishes his notability for an English speaking audience to understand. Right now it just says essentially that he's a celebrity, comedian and entertainer. And? There are many many Serbian entertainers. That doesn't mean he deserves a Wikipedia article. I'll restore the article for now but notability needs to be established somehow. I mean, the only credit listed is for a show that isn't even notable enough to have its own article. Subjects have to be notable before they can have a Wikipedia article. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 03:40, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'll let it be for awhile. I'm not sure adding jokes and such will show notability but we'll see. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 16:54, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just nominated the article for deletion. I looked at the changes made and they do not really establish notability. In fact, I felt like they made it clearer that he isn't notable. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 08:06, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
