Recent edit to Jean-Côme Noguès[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person (Jean-Côme Noguès), but that you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Materialscientist (talk) 18:54, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

March 2020[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

Blocked[edit]

You are blocked for 31 hours. When you come back, stop edit warring. If there is a dispute, you need to stop making your change and discuss, not just keep re-adding it. As a side note, as you’ve been told, at the very least, your edits are sloppy. They lack context or source backing them up. Please slow down and take the time to learn how to conduct yourself here. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 12:49, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Are you understanding what I’m telling you here? Because you just made the same edit again, without any WP:CONSENSUS that supports your change. Policy says you should be blocked again. Is there something you’re not understanding? You’re not supposed to be re-adding your edit over and over again when there are people who oppose it. You need to discuss and only make it if there consensus to make it. What’s going on over there? Sergecross73 msg me 13:16, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I dig further, and saw that you’re also making unsourced edits, and edit warring, at a WP:BLP too. I’m blocking you again, for 1 week. If it happens again after this block, the third block is going to be much longer, so please take the time to learn how the website works. When blocked, you can still comment here on this talk page, so feel free to ask me questions you may be confused about. Sergecross73 msg me 22:08, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, again, the first thing you did after your block was re-add the same exact edits again. You have been told so many times to stop doing this, and you cannot seem to understand or follow this very basic concept. Your account is blocked indefinitely, until you can describe the proper way to handle this. Hint: The answer is not to go straight into adding your edits as soon as your block is done. Hint: Read WP:CONSENSUS and WP:BRD for the answer. Or what countless others have told you. And again, I remind you that you can stop edit this talk page during your block. You can answer me here even if your account is blocked. Sergecross73 msg me 12:01, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Dear Sergecross73, I've learned that you've blocked me for some indefinite amount of time. You told me that made the same edit again, and I don't want to call you a liar or anything, but no, that is not true. Before being blocked, I left you a message on your talk page saying that I found a way to be fair with those who don't agree with me in "List of Sonic the Hedgehog characters". If what will say is rude, I'm deeply sorry, but if you didn't see it, you can choose to either check it now or continue reading. But I do know how to get out of this situation. If I talk to them, will you stop blocking me? If so, thank you very much! Gumball T. Waterson (talk) 11:31, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You need to address the problems with your edits. Your violations of WP:EW, WP:CONSENSUS, WP:BLP, WP:CITE, WP:RS. Being "fair" is not sufficient, you need to demonstrate that you reached consensus with the other editors. Yamla (talk) 11:41, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Want to team up?[edit]

Hello! I noticed that you were blocked. If you can see this, that means you were unblocked by Wikipedia. I am RingmasterCaine, and I'd like to know if you want to team up and be friends. Thank you so much for reading this. I am very grateful. RingmasterCaine (talk) 12:54, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
