HRH Prince D. Carlos of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria, Infante of Spain is the head of the Royal House of the Two Sicilies and the direct primogeniture male heir of the last reigning Kings of the Two Sicilies. He was born on 16 January 1938, the only son of the late Infante of Spain D. Alfonso of Bourbon and Princess Alice of Bourbon-Parma; his father was the only surviving son of the marriage of Prince D. Carlo of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, 2nd son of Alfonso Count of Caserta (head of the Royal House of the Two Sicilies from 1894-1934), to Infanta D. Maria de las Mercedes of Spain, Princess of the Asturias. Following his mother's death, Infante D. Alfonso bore the title of "Infante Heredero" (Infante Heir) of Spain until the birth of Alfonso, Prince of the Asturias, in 1907 to king Alfonso XIII.



Infante D. Carlos, Duke of Calabria has been [/ Head of the Royal House of the Two Sicilies] and [Constantinian Grand Master ] since 1964 when he succeeded his father. In 1965 he married HRH Princess Anne of Orleans, daughter of the Count and Countess of Paris, and they have five children - one son, Pedro, Duke of Noto, and four daughters. HRH is first cousin of Juan Carlos I King of Spain, doyen of the knights of the Spanish Golden Fleece, President of the Council of the four Military Orders of Santiago, Calatrava, Alcantara and Montesa and has received many Spanish and foreign decorations.
